My gateway 310 series desktop will not power on, it was powering on and immediately powering off

sounds like your power supply. try another power strip. try plugging it into another outlet. try the monitor power cable instead of the power cable from the tower. If none of these works, and you get zero power, you need a new power supply.

I'm trying to fix a gateway MFATXNIN NMZ 500SE

Sir,
  1. Press and hold the power button down for 10 seconds.
  2. Make sure that the power and hard disk light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are on.
  3. Check the power cable connections:
    • From the electrical outlet to the AC adapter.
    • If applicable, make sure the LED on the AC Adapter lights.
    • From the AC adapter to the notebook.
    • Make sure that the power strip is on.
    • Make sure that the surge protector is on.

  4. Try another electrical outlet.
  5. Disconnect any external devices, like PC cards, digital cameras, or external drives.
  6. Disconnect the notebook from the docking station (if applicable). Remove any power strips and surge protectors. Plug the power cord directly from the notebook into the electrical outlet.
  7. Remove the battery and reinstall the battery. Refer to the documentation that came with the notebook.
  8. Remove any newly installed software or hardware.
  9. Remove any additional memory. Refer to the documentation that came with the notebook for memory removal instructions.
  10. Shut down the computer, and then remove the drives. Refer to the documentation that came with the notebook.
  11. Push the hardware reset (if applicable). Refer to the documentation that came with the notebook.
Thanks Good Luck

Have an acer 2000 series, model type CL32. will not power up, put the power jack in, the battery (blue) flickers but wont stay on to give power

try a couple things for me first--

*put your comp on a flat stable surface.
*look at your power cord. there is a big box in the middle of it. check to make sure the wires on either side of it are pushed in all the way, if it is the kind that unplugs from the box like mine are.
* open your notebook and plug the cord into the back.
* while holding the plug firmly into the back of your notebook, turn it on and try to boot up.

if this doesnt let you turn it on and boot up, you have either an internal power supply problem, battery problem or possibly a bad power cord. you would need to have someone physically check this for you.

If it does turn on. the jack in the back could be worn out, loose or what have you or the cord is possibly bad.

please let me know what happens

I Have a gateway M1621 that I plug in a different power adaptor (output 48v). My laptop suposed to recieved 19v. What do I need to chage?

Hi jyasa,

More likely the mother board - because about all the modern laptop built today are integratedly built into a single board, where the power port is also integrated.

Hope this helps and good luck.

I HAVE A GATEWAY LAPTOP-M-SERIES-15.4"-WHAT CAN I USE TO CLEAN MY SCREEN-DO I USE SOAP&WATER OR MAY I USE MONSTER ICLEAN.

Hello,

To clean your notebook computer's screen, use a soft cloth dampened with water. Be sure to dampen the cloth; ***** squirt water directly onto the screen.

Warning: The notebook screen is made of specially coated glass and can be scratched or damaged by abrasive or ammonia-based glass cleaners.

Regards
