i have sound for a couple of min or less and then you can hear

it start to crackle and then it will start to get a little noiser and then

it will cut off the sound that is. do you think its the audio power board

or can it be the same thing you were saying in the response?

I have a similar problem. When I first turn the TV on, the sound is fine for about 30 seconds. Then the sound cuts out and there is sometimes crackling and poping sounds. I have also heard a long humming sound at times. After warming up for a period of time, turing the set off and on seems to resolve the problem. Once the sound comes back on, there problem is gone for the remainder of the day/evening.

    Any ideas?

I have just ordered my 4th replacement surround pwb in 8 years. If it's poor soldering why does it reappear on every rebuilt board after 2 years, unless there is a design problem. I did a visual inspection under a magnifying lens and could not find any heat-related damage.

Lately, the sound/signal fades to nothing a few seconds after I begin using. I've changed batteries so thats not the issue. Dunno if its time to chuck it or now, about a year old.

The fact that signal fades is indicative of something with a time delay. The question is where the delay is. If your guitar has a preamp and this device due to wear or contamination on the plug breaks the battery connection within the guitar, the problem could be a worn jack in the guitar that MAY work with your normal cable but not this Amplug due to slight size differences. Other problems could be corrosion on the battery connections in the Amplug. Sometimes headphone cables go bad so try those in another audio source and make sure they are solid. Sometimes these thing have real weak switches and the intial actio of turning it on momentarily connects the batterry, charging the internal filter capacitors which then bleed off... so try working the switch and see if it pops back on..

Stereo Amplifier fades out. My Sansui dolby pro

No that's how to describe a problem, folks - with details. Using internal FM as the source is always the preferred way of troubleshooting system-wide receiver audio problems (no cables or setting in the way).

Does the sound come on immediately with power and then fade or is there a small delay while the electronics stabilize, a click and then sound that fades?

The fizzle probably means something is rapidly overheating or a capacitor is malfunctioning. If both channels do it, I'd suspect a common power supply problem. Can't help much more than that.

My skype sound keeps fading in and out.

Change skype sound setting. TO do that :
Take Tools from the menu bar.
Then select options.
When a new window opens choose audio Setting.
Then below microphone volume untick - "Automatically adjust microphone setting".
Then drag the volume to maximum.

Pioneer VSX-D702s receiver - no sound - need help/circuit plan

The unit is in what is called "protect" mode. A problem was detected in the final output stage and that stage is turned off. The most common reason for this is failed output transistors. This is a simple repair for any repair shop and will cost about $10-$15 for parts plus the local labor charge. Expect that the output transistors plus a few supporting parts to be replaced. Most of the time, only one channel is badm, but due to the design of the protection circuit, both channels are turned off.

Sound Fades, then TV shuts off then continues to recycle on & off

Sometims several capacitors start going bad giving you the audio problem, but I don't remember the set turning itself off. That could be a secondary problem around the flyback transformer which may have a bad solder connection. I would check that first. Otherwise, I would be tempted to go with HDTV.
