It doesnt...could be a fuel problem, or even a vacuum leak. You dont say what year bike, but if its carberated, I'd check visually for a good gas stream/ check for **** in the tank...service the air cleaner as well. Check the fuel air mix and set the RPM's to 950-1000 at idle. If that doesnt do it, check the condition of all your fuel and vacuum hoses

Harley davidson evo motor wont turn over...just clicks

Pull the spark plugs out and hit the starter. This will make sure that the engine is not locked up. If the starter does not turn the engine, put the bike in first gear and have someone push you, making sure the engine is free. If the engine is OK, your starter is probably jammed and needs replaced. That wire getting hot is a dead giveaway something is locked up tight...starter or engine. If ya have a large hi-performance engine in the bike, chances are your stock starter won't do the job.

79 Shovel Head backfiring and running rich

the red light is for static timeing it doesnt mean your unit is good as far as the switches it was running good up untill now there probably where they need to be but all that aside id do a resistance check on coil and spark plug wires if that checks out check connections for ignition module some installers get lazy and tape wires together they should be solderd and shrink tubed if all is good you need a new ignition mod

1997 HD fatboy only runs on [one] cylinder @ first startups

I would start with a new set of spark plugs. preferably the stock 5r6a plugs from H-D. if that doesnt take care of the issue then check for an intake leak at the manifold by spraying a small amount of starting fluid onto the manifold as the bike is running. if your idle changes then you have a manifold leak. be careful to not spray starting fluid into the back of the airbox as this will give you a false reading. if the idle doesnt change then I would suggest having a leak down test and compression test done on both cylinders.

Oil change

You dont say what model bike BUT .... if its an evo.... you have to drain the oil out from the oil tank. Theres an oil drain hose. It doesnt drain thru the engine. If its a twin cam it does...Maybe you were low on oil ? Theres also oil in the filter. A quart might be about it in that case

Riding down the freeway on my 1985 FXR, it was 115 degrees, bike stopped running. Have gas, don't have spark at plugs. New coil. New battery. New wires.

lotta possibilities....likely something vibrated loose. i'd start with something simple. after u check electrical connections and fuses,,,,, is the ignition module black lead secured to the frame ? all coil wires secure ? Pull the key ignition....check connections/ crossed? secure ?

88 inch motor will not run properly.

Is the front cylinder firing? put a spark tester on it or pull the plug and ground it to the motor head or something and roll it over and see if it fires. If not then chances are the ignition is bad.

Elec. fuel injection / harley davidson

Sounds like a knackered / flat battery. Check the battery, look at the terminals and make sure the wires to the battery are connected properly. If the battery is good then check your charging circuit.
