GE DRYER MODEL dvlr223egoww.BOUGHT NEW BELT SEEMS A LITTLE BIG.BELT WONT TUMBLE.

Hi maddy21350...
Make sure you have routed your belt correctly, if it is not properly routed then it can cause the problem you are talking about.
Go to the following webpage and see a picture of how to route your belt properly.
If you have it correctly routed the you got the wrong belt.

My whirlpool dryer is making a very loud noise when on< sounds like it is destroying everything in the dryer. i checked the dryer hose all clear of debris!!

you will need to open up the dryer, make note of the belt routing and remove the drum as the drum rollers/glides are bad, here is a website. Hope this helped Tim:

Can't get belt on dryer properly

The routing for the belt should be on a diagram somewhere inside the dryer. It sounds like the belt is not properly routed around the idler/tensioner pulley -- this is a very tricky routing -- without a diagram, it's a bunch of trial and error. Can you find the routing diagram?

Replace dryer belt

Pull the front panel off, remove the top screws and tilt top back. Rout the new belt around drum at the old wear spot with the grooved side against the drum. Next remove the back access door and rout the belt around the idler pulley and motor pulley. There is only one way to do this and get proper tension on the belt.
Also, when you order the belt, ask if it has a belt routing diagram on the belt package.

Dryer belt routing

the best way i can tell you is open the back put the belt on the motor then visually pull the tension pulley back and put the belt on the tension back on the belt. if you are changing the belt you must touch the spring.let me know how it goes.

How to instal new belt.

Remove the back panel, there you will find a tensioner, that will release the pulley.

Undo the belt routing and install the new one.
