Question about GE Spectra JGBP35 Gas Kitchen Range

Oven Ignitor issues

Hello,

I saw your post regarding the ignitor issues on the GE oven. Like the others, the range and the warming drawer work fine but the oven will not ignite. I suspect that I will have to replace the ignitor but was wondering what GE charges (ballpark figure per hour) to come put it in. I have already received a price from GE of $90.00 for the part.

I am weighing this option against buying a whole new oven.

Thanks for the help.

Dave

It could be that the igniters are wet. Try baking them dry first..

When we turn on the broiler or the oven it will not heat up inside. The warmer drawer works. The screen is fine and its like it will heat up but stays at 100 degrees. Is this the ignitor switch? or is...

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. This sounds like an ignitor issue. When the ignitor starts to fail it will glow enough to add heat to the oven or the default for the oven is 100 degrees. The ignitor is located under the bottom inside the oven,Sometimes it will glow but it dont let enough power through to open the gas valve. I would say its an ignitor issue.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..

GE XL44 gas oven

well..that's a gas issue, not an ignitor issue..did you check for the pilot to be active? or is this pilot less?

Oven will not light

Hello. If this is a standard gas range the most likely problem is the oven ignitor. You should be able to pull either the bottom drawer or the oven pan out and see if you can see any glowing when you set the oven to Bake. If you don't see any glowing then it is probably the ignitor. If you are unsure of how to check the ignitor then I would call an Appliance Tech out to take a look. Hope this helps, best regards.

GE Profile Gas Range, oven doesn't heat up on any

Find the bake ignitor (you may need to remove bottom drawer or oven cavity floor to get to the ignitor). Turn on the bake. If the bake ignitor comes on (starts glowing after a few seconds) - check the amperage on the bake ignitor wires when it's on. Should be 3 - 3.6A. If less than 3A - replace ignitor. If the ignitor does not come on - check the voltage on the ignitor, should be the line voltage 110-120v AC. If there is a line voltage on the ignitor and it's not coming on - replace.

Part numbers, the first one being the direct replacement: WB13T10045, 12400035, WB13K21, WB2X9998, SGR412, NR020, 5303935066, 814269, 9753108.
Those ignitors are interchangeable, if you can splice the wires, if not comfortable splicing wires - order the first one in the list above.

Good luck!

I have a GE Kitchen range XL44, stove top burners work fine, but oven won't light??? HELP please

Unplug the range.
Remove the oven racks.
remove the oven base pan.
remove the flame spreader pan.
remove the glow bar ignitor on the left hand side of the gas burner and replace it with a good ignitor.

No oven baking function

You need to replace the oven ignitor. The ignitor has to draw enough current to open the gas valve. Your ignitor is either broke or not working properly, so the ignitor will not lite the oven.

Where do I light my gas oven?

Hello Slacker3158 how old is this oven? I only ask as GE hasn't built a standing Pilot range in over 18 yrs. The issue may be a bad oven ignitor. Put the oven on broil, if it works then the bake ignitor is bad. It is found under the bottom of the oven. There is 2 to 4 screws inside the oven that allows the bottom to be removed.
