RCA P52937SG Will not turn on, only makes clicking sound.
Several weeks ago, my RCA P52937SG big screen started turning itself on and off. I would turn it on, and after about 2 minutes it would turn itself off again, and within 15 seconds, turn itself back on. Again, after about 2 minutes it would turn itself off and continue the cycle.
Then one day it just turned itself off and was not able to turn itself back on. It just makes a clicking sounds over and over again.
I feel confident that I could make the repair if I knew for certain what the problem was. Any ideas?

if you heard a hissing or like static sound your board probably has a hole in it now. the board on the left side with the flyback fransformer. the hole is from where a prong has come loose an is arking over an it burns the board the ark is the sound you heard.
proabably it,s because you left it on for long time , or the image power saver is wrecked and damaged after a storng lightinning , and if you have cleaned ther tv screen with a wet wiper it causes that to happen
ok i see alot of these at the shop( i have one in front of me right now) The rca itc22 chasis is bad about this.. If the processor finds any problems it will shut it down. THe big problem it can be one of about 20 different things. As the customer the first thing you can do is unplug the set and leave it of 30 min to an hour. then try it again. ( I have yet to see this work) There are some basic assumptions that you can make.. if you see the light flash then it wont be a fuse. the processor is getting power. This is where a technicain starts his troubleshooting. You said it would shut itself down every once in awile... could be a bad connection or a component that finally overheated then failed. The processor on this set records errors so a technician can read these with special computer interface equipment. repairs on the set generally run 150 to 500. These sets are about 800 new at walmart so you have to make the decision to repair
