I will have to tell you that the radio has fuses located in the cars
fuse panel...

  • Check the owners manual to locate the Fuse that are link to the Radio
  • There will be a Fuse (20amp) that will be for the Radio
  • There will be a fuse for the Radio Memory
  • If this not the factory stereo then the Fuse located behind the dashboard (back of the stereo
there will be a red wire with a fuse on it

Check those and please post back Ok

Thank You

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited the battery went dead, after I jumped it everything works fine except no radio. nothing at all lights up or comes on i changed the fuse which was a blue 15...

Is it the factory radio? If it is a replacement radio look for an inline fuse along the positive cable. Also wonder why the 15a fuse in in there if factory recommends 20a ? Perhaps someone was having issues before.

Last thought, if radio was on during the jumpstart it could have sustained damage.

My battery went out when it snowed and when i tried to get a jump it knock the radio out and now all it says it code it there a code for the radio or is it fried

I suspect that when you jumped it, the leads were perhaps reversed momentairly by accident and the theft deterrant chip in the radio got wiped. That chip holds the information necessary to instruct your radio how to operate, and if say some thief stole your radio that chip would erase itself after being away from the battery for 30 minutes. I suspect that your battery may have completely gone flat and the radio chip erased itself, if the reversal did not happen. That chip can be reprogrammed, but it has to be done by the dealer, as they are the only ones who are supposed to have the equipment to program the chip. It cost 25-50 bucks to have it done.

If you have to replace your battery, connect a nine volt battery between the battery connectors if the battery replacement is going to take longer than 30 minutes. This will hold the memory in your computer as well as the radio.

Radio wouldn't work after the battery went flat and had to start the car from another car

check the radio fuse and the cig lighter fuse and if you have a second 12 outlet check that fuse also. most of the time thats the problem some time the deck can go bad after a car battery dies but hardly.

Have an alpine radio. twice, it has gone dead, will not turn on, power up,etc first time, battery went dead few days later and when recharged radio came back. have has some electrical troubles with...

sounds to be a drain of sorts. Do you have a good ground to the radio? If so the radio may be sticking open in the switch circuit and blows the relay buzz fuse and then after the power is removed the ciruit resets itself. If this is the case there is a dead short inside the radio
