Lite-on Combo CD/DVD Rom SOHC-5236K

I installed the subject hardware and my computer (HP Compaq DX2200) and have had problems booting up. I have tried bussing pins Master, Slave and Cable Sel at different times. I can get a DVD movie to play but I can't get the game 'Ratatouille' to download. I go to RUN and enter D:Install_Ratatouillle.exe and press enter. I get a message, 'D:Unavailable......' Right now my computer is operating at a snails pace. The DVD light is blinking and it won't open. I went in to BIOS and pressed F7, Return to Manufactures Defaults. I am in a quandry as what to do next. I was previously able to play a movie DVD on Media Player. Another problem has been that when the computer goes into hibernation it locks up and I have to press the on/off button for 5 sec to shut it down and restart it.
Any help would be appreciated.
