My microwave is not working at all. It is showing a code that says E-5 or S-5, I can't tell. What is this?

do noting if its was in wattrety compny is replaced its free of cost

error codes show for a reason - it needs a fix.
get the manual, find out what it is telling u, fix it, and it goes away

There's quite a few different makes and models out there with loads of different codes. Please tell us WHICH make AND model microwave you have and we can check the servicing guides for you.

SE is an error code for a shorted keypad, although the keypad might not really be shorted.

Unplug the oven for a few minutes to see if it clears the error code. If not, then leave it unplugged over night. If the problem persists, then you probably do have a shorted membrane switch on the keypad.

Your the 2nd one today..bad main control board.. Cheaper to buy a new one
microwave unless you can find a replacement board and do it yourself... tell me what you want to do and I can walk you through..board is about $100 if you can find one.plus shipping repair shop would cost $200-225 incl. parts if they can get them

Actually it can't be "dead" if a fault code is on the display.

There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing.



It should tell you what the E5 code means, but I would suspect a defective temperature sensor or control board.

f7 keeps showing up and the microwave keeps cutting off,f7 code shows up. what do i do

check the operation of the micro switches on the lock motor. that they are open when they should be and closed when they should be. often they need to be cleaned or replaced.
if this doesnt help re post there is some board work to do, i would suggest a tech do this part though. always unplug range when you work on them! If you are good at electronics and stuff and would like to do it yourself then contact me for further support!
