Using a computer to put pictures back onto a memory card that will be used in a camera is not a recommended procedure. In most cases, it will corrupt the camera. In some cases it works. Do you really want to take the chance?

SOURCE: have a new sony dsc-w120

OK,
Camera has small inbuilt memory that can store few pictures. You can copy these photos in memory stick by inserting memory stick in camera, go to Menu >> Copy >> Yes.
Memory stick stores many photos depends on its size and let memory stick in camera, hook it with computer and transfer photos from memory card.
Thanks.

The Photo's are currently stored on the cameras internal memory, you'll need to transfer them to the card using the camera's menu options.

Failing that, plug the camera into your PC and switch on, a box should appear asking you which programme would you like to access the new device with.

Select the folder option, then click on and open any folders therein, one will be the camera memory the other the card memory.

I have taken photos and they are sitting on my camera but realised I didnt have a memory stick in the camera. Is there a way to get them onto the memory stick or onto a computer

Look in the Setup menu and see whether there's a "Backup" or "Copy" entry. If so, use it to copy the pictures from the internal memory to the memory stick.

Alternatively, you can connect the camera to your computer with the supplied cable and transfer the pictures that way.

Put the memory stick inside the camera. Then open the photos which is save in your camera memory. Select them all & then you find a option Send to memory card or copy to memory card. Select that and press ok. Your photos transfer from camera memory to memory stick.

No memory space in memory stick

Transfer the images from the memory stick to your computer, make sure the transfer has been successful so you don't lose your pictures, then to be safe put the stick back into the camera and delete them once back in the camera. AGAIN, before you delete anything, make sure your pictures have been safely transferred to your pc and you can view them all. Deleting the photos from the stick will make the disc empty again and ready for more shots to be taken.

How do I transfer pictures from my computer back on to my camera? Is it possible to transfer pictures back to your camera from the computer?

This doesn't work for all cameras, but it does work for some cameras.

1) Make SURE you have all the photos in your computer.

2) Put the memory card into your camera and follow the camera's instructions to reformat the card.

3) Take 1 new photo on the memory card.

4) Put the memory card in the card reader on your computer. If you connect the camera directly to the computer instead of using a card reader, then do that now.

5) If your computer tries to automatically copy or move the photos to the computer cancel the process.

6) Use Windows Explorer (or Finder, if you use a Mac) and open 2 windows. In one window, navigate to the drive that represents your memory card. In the other window navigate to the location of your photos on your computer. This is usually in your My Pictures or Pictures drive under your user account.

7) On the memory card you will usually find the photo is in a subfolder, it may be several folders down. There may also be a thumbnail file. To copy files from your computer back onto the memory card so they can be seen in the camera you need to copy the files back onto the card using:

A) The same filename structure;
B) Include a thumbnail file if the camera creates thumbnail files
C) The file needs to be in the right folder structure (determined in step 7 above).

If your camera makes and uses thumbnail files but you don't have them on your computer, then you probably can't get the camera to recognize the files even if you copy them back onto the memory card in the right place.

Good luck!

Transferring photo from computer to memory stick

Many cameras will not let you write to the card. Try using a card reader, which will make the memory card appear to the computer as a separate hard drive.

Downloading photos back to my camera from my pc

Is you camera recognised as 'and additional drive' when it is plugged into the computer ?

If so - copy the pictures from your hard drive as normal, and paste into the 'camera' as if it were a USB stick.

OR

Does your camera have a standalone memory card (I would imagine it does) - can you take this out, and put it into a card reader . . again - just copy and paste (I have NEVER transferred files direct from my camera, and neither would I recommend it)

Memory stick

Have you actually loaded them to the computer then loaded them back onto the stick? Cameras cant read images very often when loaded back from the computer- because they changed image type from EXIF[camera] to JPEG normal computer image file. This should not prevent you getting the printed however.
