I have a little giant submergable sump pump and its not pulling water the motor keeps getting hot How to fix it?

Check the discharge hose to see if it is clogged or kinked. If you disconnect the pump from the hose, does the pump operate normally? Check the bottom of the pump to make sure the pump intake is not clogged. If no clogs are found, and the pump does not work with the hose disconnected, it is probably the pump. Depending on the age of the pump and the pump size, it may need replacement.

I have installed a Grundfos CH2050PT pressure booster system at my home (3 stories). The pumps is installed at ground level and is connected to the main water tank (source of water). The pressure is...

it could be the differential in pressure between the cold water from your booster pump and the hot water from your solar water heater . the cold water which feeds your solar heater is probably being reduced in pressure by a pressure reducing valve . so what you need is equal pressure on both your hot and cold water system you could install a pressure reducing valve on the pipe thart feeds your cold taps etc valve set at the same pressure as the one on the solar water heater that would give you a balanced hot and cold water system

1/3 hp shallow well jet pump (mastercraft brand). After power outage i have been having problems with pump. It will run continuously without building up enough pressure to cut out. It wil build up to about...

I don't think the power shortage had anything to do with the pump, I think it is the impeller or a gasket, or both. It is hard to say, a pump like that should **** dry and pull water right in.If you put your hand over the end of the pipe, it should make a mark like an octopus on your hand. I would take off the impeller, look for trouble, and replace 3 or 4 parts in there , you should have water. Hope this helps.

1/2 hp shall well pump. set at 30/50....seems to hesitate around 48 for an extra amount of time....have to shake the hose or tap the pressure plate to get pump to cycle off. also....noticed the pump...

50 PSI for a 1/2 HP pump is approaching the upper limit for that pump. Many things can affect the upper limit. How far the pump has to pull water up the well pipe, is there any air leak what so ever on the input. If the pump lost its prime because it could not attain the 50PSI, I would suspect it may be just outside the limits of the pump at this point in time. If this pump is on a shallow well, it may be that the shallow well point is beginning to plug and not allowing as much water in which would cause a harder pull for the pump. I would turn the high pressure side down to maybe 45 and see if it operates properly at that pressure.

I hope this helps.

How do I change the electric wire in a franklin ground water pump from 230v to 115v? I purchased a Red Lion 3/4 hp convertible ground water pump but must change the power and wiring from the pumps...

You have 4 wires coming out of the fuse box , one white , one bare, one black, one red, right? The fuse is a double pole, 220 volt, ?30?amp, guessing, and you are now wiring up to a 110 volt, motor which needs 20 amps, so, remove one wire from the breaker, red or black, shut it off first, pull the wire off, tape it and mark it what it was. leave the red wire on there, or the black, it doesn't matter, Now you have one hot, one ground, one neutral, hook them up to the pump, the box on the pump has screws, one silver, one brass, the brass is always hot, the colored wires are always hot, The silver screw is neutral, the white is neutral, always, and the ground wire goes to the ground screw, maybe outside of the box. You should be all set, tape off the old colored wire you didn't use and mark it . You might need it someday. Hope this helps.

Hi! My hot water taps from the wash hand basin and mixer bath has low pressure. I`ve got a combi boiler in the first floor. Can I install a single impeller pump connected from the hot water outlet from the...

In a word no. Combi boilers work on balanced pressure.ie the mains cold supply to the boiler should be around 1 bar minimum which would give a hot water pressure of the same 1 bar. Assuming the cold water pressure is fine, it sounds like you have a restricted flow on the hot side. If you live in an area with water problems the hot water systems pipework calcify over time effectively reducing water flow. Unless any flexi hoses are kinked, check if there are any filters in the appliances that may be blocked. Also check all valves are fully open and if possible check if there are any restrictions at the valves. Failing all that and the taps are in good order it is possible to fit a pump before the boiler but this may only be a temporary fix overall.

Problems getting hot water to the shower

If you have good water pressure to every other hot water faucet inj the house then the problem lies in the shower valves. There are some very small passages in the valve and getting dirt removed can be very hard to do. You could try trurning the water off and blowing air back through the shower or taking apart the valve and flushing the valve out with it dissasembled.
But my opinion is that the problem is in the valve.

Cut generator into 230 volt water pump system

I would double check the wiring at water pump to verify the operating voltage and that the red, black and yellow are wired as you think and make sure you double check the wiring to the generator and verify the voltages of the unit with it running before you shut it off and make your final connections.Make sure youe your ground/neutrals are correct first the wire the hot leads.

I need to change da motor from 110v to 240v to work at home

You can only do this if motor is made for this kind of change. The motor info plate will have a connection chart to show you if you can and what connection changes you must make. Also, the pressure switch must be a 2 pole (double contact pole) switch if you use it on 220 to 240 volt because you now have 2 hot wires and a neutral (not just 1 hot wire and neutral as in 115-120v) , and you must have a pressure switch that disconnects both hots ----therefore it must be 2pole.
Good luck, Macgivor
