Type the make and model into google, Eg: SOFTWARE FOR MAKE MODEL or DRIVERS FOR MAKE MODEL, There should be a site out there somewhere with the programme you need.
If you cant find them tell me the make and model and i'll have a look.
Hope that is helpfull, Thanks

Hello there Bill,

This takes me back many years. !!!!

It is most odd these days to find people still using Floppy Drives. Are you SURE you want a floppy disc drive ? They cannot store very much at all.

First of all, before you do anything, Open your PC and MAKE SURE you have a socket on it for a floppy drive. !!!!! If necessary get the model and make of the Motherboard and check on its manufacturers website that it has a socket.
THIS IS IMPORTANT as modern computer motherboards DO NOT provide floppy interface sockets. and you cannot run a floppy on them.

Right, the Floppy needs a 34 way cable with connectors both ends
There is no USB connection for a floppy disc drive.
If you bought a floppy and all-in-one card reader item then the usb is for the card reader and NOT for the floppy..

A picture and explanation of it are here http://pcguide.com/ref/fdd/confCable-c.html

This is what you need to buy. Dont worry it looks long at complicated, it is just that it has extra connectors .

Install the cable in to the motherboard and floppy, Your computer will recognise the floppy automatically and off you go.

Good luck

Sabrent external floppy reader is asking me to format my floppy disk. how can a format it without deleting my files on floppy disk?

Your floppy disk drive may be defective. Also, Some floppy drives are manufactured differently. Your best bet is to find another floppy drive to read your floppy disk. You can try to take it to the nearest computer store and ask them to read it for you. If they can read it at the computer store? The Sabrent drive you received if bad. If they cannot read it the floppy is bad. If the floppy is bad you can try to download free data recovery software to attempt to recover your data, files etc. Good luck

If you have an external floppy reader, that is USB, it should be plug and play with Windows 7. What error did you get when you plugged it into the computer?

What other embroidery cards can I buy for my envision 9008?

You can download designs from the Internet and send them to the embroidery machine.

If this machine uses memory cards, you will need a reader/writer unit and a rewritable memory card in the format of the machine.

If the machine uses floppy discs, you need a PC that has a disc drive for floppies or you will need an external drive.

Check the Internet for vendors or check with the shop where you purchased the machine for the method of transfer needed.

Where is the insert for the floppy disc

The floppy disk may or may not be installed in section 5. They started eliminating floppy drives some years ago, when USB flash started to become popular.

FlexBay drive panel
Can contain an optional floppy drive or optional Media Card Reader. For information on using the Media Card Reader, see Using a Media Card Reader (Optional).

If your question was more basic than this, and you have a floppy drive, then you just insert the floppy into the slot. It doesn't open. Look for the arrow on the floppy disk, if it doesn't go in one way, turn it over.

I wanted to copy some files from a floppy disc to my external hard disc formated for Mac but there seems to be mechanical problems and it says it is unreadable and wants me to reformat it. I bought a new...

Copying files from Floppy Drive to External HDD.

01. Ensure that both Floppy drive and External HDD are configured properly in the machine.

02. Sometimes if virus affected the files of floppy drive, will not copy the full files.

03. Close the small led in the floppy top right side and check once again.

04. In start program, type coimmand and the dos prompt with Drive will appear.

05. keyin Dir A: and see it reads all files.

06. There also it gives error, you cannot copy these files to External HDD.

07. Try to use some other floppier which is already formatted.

08. Ohrr solution is just copy all these files from the floppy drive on to C: and copy the same files after creating a folder in C Drive.

09. Check the Interlink cable is also working fine.

10. If the problem not solved, please call authorized system service engineer to sort out the issue..

Card reader

This type of card reader is powered from the usb table so you will need to look for a usb header on the motherboard to plug it into. The header will be a 10 pin header ( but pin 10 is missing! ) so it is top row 4 pins, bottom row 5 pins, from left the connections are red, white, green, black, & no connection.
The power plug used to connect the card reader is the power plug normally used to power the floppy disk drive. come back to if problems still persist ? compdoctor2005@btinternet.com

There is a white cable fixed to the drive that appears to have

The 7 pin connector is for the media card readers and needs to be plugged into a USB header on your motherboard. Not all motherboards have this header, so consult your motherboard manual. You may have to connect it in place of front USB connectors on your PC case.

The card reader will work without a separate power connection. The power connection is for the floppy drive only, and IS required for the drive to work. You should be able to find the appropriate connector on your power supply.

Imstalling internal card reader

Well, installing an internal card reader without a spot on the motherboard, is a little hard to do. I would suggest buying an external card reader. They are a little cheaper, and a lot easier to setup and use, since they just connect to a USB port which all computers have.
