Hello there: A burner doesn't workThe
most common problem for gas surface burners is that they get gas but
don't light. This is generally caused by dirt or grease splatters on the
burner itself. Residential-grade range/stove burners are round and have
small holes around their perimeter to allow gas to flow out and create a
round flame. The gas coming from these holes is often ignited by a
small vertical row of holes on the side of the burner. If these vertical
holes are clogged or obstructed, the gas can't ignite. The
solution is to clean the burners thoroughly. Use a toothpick to clear
the small vertical holes, then allow the burner to dry completely and
try lighting it again. If it doesn't light immediately, either repeat
the procedure or call a qualified appliance repair technician.
yikes .. you have a very dangerous condition there ... ventalate the area and turn the gas off immediatly.. there is a shutoff valve somewhere in the gas line coming to the stove top .. if you cant find that then shut off the gas at the gas meter or call the gas company to do that for you (its free) ...
your problem is likely a loose pipe or cracked manafold .. it is leaking gas under the cooktop .. i would replumb the unit and check for cracks .. or call a professional .. your unit comes with a 1 year warranty or an additional 4 years if you bought extra coverage .. that probably wont cover a bad installation if thats the problem (unless the repair company installed the unit to start with) .. but will cover the stoves inside plumbing ..
your stove is not safe the way it is .. if you can still smell gas then you shouldnt be in the house until the gas is turned off ... windows should be open .. dont turn on lights or other things that can ignite the gas .. and absolutely dont try to relight the burners until the problem is fixed ..
Wow this problem sounds exactly like my landlords problem only he is just now saying he is learning of the problem. You even have the age of the stove correct.
hi gud day,do u think the gas is ok or every time u open is come out, or check ur control gas line valve maybe it close or authomaticaly close due to some laekage. chect it by smeling every turn on ur knob, but unplug the item b4 u do.
It's the Switch Harness. Do not remove the stove and disconnect it from the gas. Turn the gas off under the stove. Take off the: knobs and the plate; burners; hxw screws. Pull burners out and disconnect igniter burners. Lift the top of the oven off. The Switch Harness is on the right, under where the knobs are located. Replace the Switch Harnes.
for the 4 burner if u not use coz of no igniter, use matches or lighter every time to use,if not turn the burner remove the knob & try to use hammer slowly at the top of the gas valve mostly the problem is stockcup, use oil b4 u try to turn.for the harness wire call the contact service center to buy a harness wire to replace the parts, but it so easily to replace the wire try to open the unit to see the wire size, color then gi to hardware to buy a wire same as in ur unit.tnx gerbee
It sounds like a bad pressure regulator. Or it may be adjusted for LP gas. I need more information. Sometimes you can adjust it yourself, sometimes you need to buy a kit or new regulator.
The burner are fixed only maintenace are to clean burner /clean holes and edge in order flow of gas good performance. At the back if you want make more good performance of your top burner clean the nozzle where the air and gas mix . Clean the nozzle w/fine niddle /sometime if will corrode with rust and dust to struck flow of gas.
