I own a KitchenAid washer model # KHWS01PWH0. I get a code dl then f11. I replaced the door assembly, thinking that I had a faulty one. Washed 2 loads, and the same thing happened! I'm not sure if the problem occur's during the cycle, or after, but the fabric softner is still in the dispencer. I the changed to a rapid wash cycle and it went all the way through. Any ideas? I can't afford to pay a service tech. or buy a new machine, so any help would be appreciated

SOURCE: Fabric softner is building up in dispenser

Same deal - I have to soak up all the residual water in the softener dispenser between washes. (The detergent and bleach compartments are fine).

SOURCE: Fabric conditioner dispencer not working

Dispenser trays have a narrow hole at the base of the unit.. this is most likely blocked with gunge... pour bleach into outlet and push a straw through to clear obstruction. Once cleared take drawer out of machine regulary and wash in hot soapy water to prevent a repeat buildup.

Washer stops and F11 code flashes

An F11 is a communication failure between the machines control board and the motor controller. Often you will also experience a 'DL' error associated with the F11 because when the washer fails, the door is still locked and when you restart the wash, the electronics will try and lock an already locked door. Either the control board or motor controller can cause this error along with a bad harness or loose connector, but the majority of the time it is the main control that is failing.

We have a Kenmore Elite Quiet Pak 4 Washer that we have had for 5 years. It has been flashing F11 and DL back and forth for months. We had a tech come out (not sure he knew what he was talking about) and...

The symptoms are pretty specific for the F11 code on the Whirlpool Duet front loaders and clones (Kenmore Elite and KitchenAid):

If the washer starts to fill but the drum NEVER moves, your MCU is bad

If the washer runs through most of a cycle and then gives the F11 before (or during) a rinse or spin cycle, then you have the CCU relay problem.

If you are interested in having me repair your CCU for you, I offer that service on eBay (website coming soon). My username there is "jhagner"

Washer wont turn on. code is F dL. any thoughts?

Hi,

"dl" indicates a door lock error. A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked. It will try to lock it 6 times before displaying the error.
Check for the following when dl occurs:
  • Door Lock Mechanism broken.

  • Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly for foreign objects

  • Check Wire Harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)

  • Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure

Thank you !!

Hello, I have a Kenmore Elite Oasis washer model

On this washer, the dl code indicates a failed lid lock mechanism. Pressing pause/cancel should reset the controls.

You may have to unplug the unit for 20-30 minutes, then restore the power.

If that doesn't work, the only other solution would be to replace the door lock assembly.

Hi

Error F11 means Serial Communication Error i.e. communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly. You need to:
  • Check Wire Harness connectors to the MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Check the Drive system for any worn or failed components
  • Check MCU
  • Check CCU
  • Check Motor
  • Check Wire Harness

  • Error code dl is a Door Lock Error. A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked. It will try to lock it 6 times before displaying the error. You need to check:
  • Door Lock Mechanism broken or removed from the Door
  • Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly
  • Check the wire harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure

F dL symbol on Whirlpool duet HT

It is saying there is a problem with your door Lock. when you close the door does it hold like it use too? try to open and close the door if it doesn't really close properly then you will just need a door latch. If the machine gives you an f11 code then its the main computer board that can also give your the door lock error. I would check the door first though.

    F DL Error Code

If you were already experiencing the F11 error code and now experiencing the Fdl error, this more than likely is a failure of the Main Control Board. F11 is a serial communications error associated with the Main Control Board, while the Fdl error is either a failed Main Control Board and/or door latch. You can replace the door latch first to see if the error goes away, but I would almost bet you have a control board problem since you were already experiencing an intermittent error code associated to it. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Error code F dL, then F11

F/DL is indeed a door lock error. I had this on my machine, did a lot of research and getting some idea of how it works. The code is generated when the CCU can't lock the door. Possible causes are door latch mechanism, connecting wiring, or the CCU. I could hear clicking from the CCU on my machine which indicated to me the CCU was trying to lock the door. It tries 6 times before setting the F/DL code. I tested the latch and wiring from the CCU - OK. The clicking I heard had to be relay(s) so I figured the problem was relay contact failure. I removed the CCU board, determined which relays were suspect (there are two for lock & unlock). I changed them both and saved myself spending $300 CA on a new CCU. The relays cost just over $2 each. I found replacement relays @ Electro Sonic (www.e-sonic.com; minimum $25 order plus shipping $7.50). Relay made by OMRON part # G5LE-14-DC12 replacment for original G5LE-1-VD 12VDC. I'm not impressed to have to change a $300 CCU because of a $2 relay failure. For me this was worth the try as I have some experience working with circuit boards. The relays would be a quick repair for anyone with similar experience. Hope this helps someone.
