Hi..both screws r on outside of carb your air flow screw is the bigger of the 2 with a spring on it usually by top where throttle body is.. Outher is kinda set in on same side b careful u dont loose lil washer and turn small turns to fix your issue.good luck bud..

Tried to adjust the fule screw and drop the idel but still runs high and dies when i hit the gas

CHECK OUT YOU'R CARBURETOR MAYBE THE FLOW OF GAS MAY NOT BE DISTRIBUTING RIGHT,YOU MIGHT NEED
TO REBUILD IT.YOU TRY,D EVERY THING ELSE. BUT THE CARBURETOR,TRY CARBURETOR CLEANER IT COMES IN A CAN SPRAY YOU COULD GO TO AUTO ZONE, MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.

1989 nissan maxima, rough idel. alredy replace spark plugs and air filter. any other suggestions ..i.e. ignition, distribtor, fule pump, injectors? thanx for your time.

Distributor cap. Take off and see if the metal leads have corrosion. It is what connects your spark plug wires. Usually have to replace this a couple times a year!

its not getting any fule to carb strip down all fule lines and any fule taps to check there clean and fule flows freely then strip carb and clean out all jets,,,dont go poking wire into the jets it could distroy them use compressed air or card cleaner on jets

Will not stay running, once it gets warm runs like a dream .have changed several sensors and has made no change..fule pump filter tpr idel sensor and so on once you get the motor warm she runs fine ,,

The vehicle runs in what is called 'open loop' system when it is cold. The open loop system is a predefined set of parameters (including fuel/air mixture) embedded into the ECM to run the vehicle until the vehicle warms up and goes into closed loop system. Then the ECM works off the sensors.

You could have a failing ECM

Wont idel when warmed up

seems to me there may be a problem with the transmission, because you say it runs fine in neutral and dies when you put it in gear!!!
only logical thing if everything else you mentioned has been ruled out!!!
