Washing machine leaking

There is water leaking from under the machine. My husband is very handy and able to fix most anything. He is wondering if these machines are prone to leak from one certain area, and if so, what area? An 'O' ring, washer, broken hose, etc.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

They are not any more prone to leak than any other brand of front loader. He needs to take the bottom cover off and look for the source with a flashlight while the machine runs through a cycle. It could be something simple like a drain or fill hose or something much more difficult like the tub gasket. He will know that it is a tub gasket the leak originates where the two sections of the drum are fastened together.

My whirlpool just started leaking from the bottom of machine onto the floor. This happens when the machine is OFF and no clothes in machine. Is it a switch

The drain hose has to be higher than the water level at its highest point. IF there is water coming into the machine when it is not running then you may have a bad water inlet valve. They develop leaks like any faucet or valve. It could be some other things too, like the voltage to the valves is not completely cutting off. There is also some water that stays in those machines because it cannot all be pumped out. What is the model number?

I purchased an LG front loader washer last year in October, Luckily I purchased the extended warrenty. I had to have a repair man come out as I was stumped too. I had washed some rugs in there and it plugged up the pump. The repair man told my husband that the inlet is very small and there are lots of things that could plug the pumps up. If you are handy could tackle this but I think it is best to call someone. My husband is handy at fixing just about anything and he told me to take my rugs to the laudry mat. :(

LG Tromm WM0642HW washer leaking water!

I have the same problem - just a small amount of water leaking out from under the machine. I removed the top cover and found one of the water lines rubs on the vent tube and has wore completely through. Should be an easy fix, as the line runs from the #2 spigot on the water inlet to the detergent box - both connections are right on top.

Depends how handy and ambitious you want to be. :) Easiest thing to do is run another load with a flashlight handy. When you start to see water try to find where it is coming from. Make sure you are not overloading the machine with soap.
