Panasonic DMR-EX99 DVD Recorder / VCR / HDD Recorder Purchased this machine a few months ago. All seemed fine. Have just returned from a few weeks away to find problems with TV programs saved to the HDD. These saved progs badly disorted and disintegrated so much so as to be unwatchable. Assumed that this was due to poor reception in the recent bad weather in the UK. However, have now noticed that watching the TV directly rather than through the Panasonic seems to be fine but watching the same programs via the Panasonic appear distorted. Where and how should I start to look for the source of the problem? I need to investigate these before thinking someting is wrong with the Panasonic machine itself. Thanks for any helpful pointers.

SOURCE: Panasonic DMR-E85 DVD recorder TV Guide problem

Unit must get the TV guide from an analog station. If cable company goes digital you loose the data. If the station that hosted TV guide goes digital you loose the data. This unit does not have a digital ATSC tuner only analog NTSC tuner. If you are still getting analog data there are a few capacitors on the power supply under the hard drive that bulge up and cause problems. They should be replaced with higher voltage rating types.

SOURCE: Panasonic DMR-ES45V - DVD recorder / VCR combo Remote not workin

My remote is not working. When I press a button, I get the following message on my unit: U12, U30, SET #, CHK REMOTE #, or RC #. What can I do to fix this? The message displayed means that the remote control and unit are not communicating and the remote needs to be programmed. To program the remote, press and hold the same number that is displaying on the unit and the [ENTER] or [OK] button for more than 2 seconds. For example, if the unit displays “SET 2”, press and hold [2] and [ENTER] or [OK] for more than 2 seconds.

How do I stop my Panasonic DMR-EH75V DVD Recorder from automatically turnig itself off after 75 seconds?

It could be overheating.. Is it fairly consistent at 75 seconds? To test put the unit in the fridge for 30 minutes then quickly connect it up and test. If it is longer then 75 seconds then something is getting to hot. I've put hard drives (especially laptop ones) in the freezer if I need to copy off data but it clicks/stops working at room temp.

How can I "PAUSE" while Copying from HDD to DVD on my Panasonic DMR-EX85 recorder?

Hi, Assuming the unit behaves much like a VCR-VCR dubbing setup you may be able to pause the DVD recordig on the fly simply by making sure the function is set to DVD and pressing PAUSE to start/stop recording
Hope this helps

Dmr-ES30V Dvd plays pre record movies fine but I

Try a different brand of blank dvd+r or -r. you will find that your dvd machine is fussy on what discs it plays. More exspensive dvd players are fussy with what dvd discs you put in, as cheaper dvd players would virtualy play most types of dvds.

DMR-EH75V DVD Recorder

ekimt,

Yes, it would not recognize any type of disc. The disc icon was always present on the display even though no disc was inserted. Also, mine went out while recording from HDD to DVD. Panasonic had mine repaired in two business days and it' s working great.
