Try going into the bios and turning off any oboard graphics that you have. if this does not sort out the problem, try downloading a coaec pack like the k-light codec pack (just look on google) hope this helps

Windows won't launch, green check screen comes up,tried everything!!

I had something like this with a tower computer. I couldn't tell if it was the graphics card or the motherboard. I ended up dumping the computer. I saved the graphics card, but need to test it in another computer. I am guessing it is not loading because you may have switched it off at some point because of the checked green screen and may have damaged the operating system. Firstly, can you change the graphics card for another to see if this gets rid of the checked green screen. If this works, it won't adress it not loading, but could get rid of the checked green screen which is the first problem to deal with.

845 mother board display in intel logo then shop

Start by pressing F2 repeatedly whilst switching on and this should allow you to get to the BIOS where i suspect you problem is.

Alternate you could reset the BIOS by moving the bios jumper to the clear position and powering on as this sends the board into maintenance mode to allow you to get to the BIOS.

It could also be that one of your components is not seated correctly.
if you have recently added anything or moved the computer then disconnect or remove anything you have added or disconnect each item one at a time and re-seat it (cables cards memory etc etc)

One of those should get you into a position to be able to diagnose the exact cause.

I built a new computer recently, but the motherboard did not have any integrated graphics. So I added a graphics card, and now it refuses to turn on. The power LED turns on for a split second and then back...

sounds like the CPU or ram are at fault. double check the fitting of each make sure the fitting of the heatsink hasn't damaged the chip. If using more than one Ram stick take one out and then swap them round.
what did you do before to fix the problem? was it a short? check everything is as it should be.
reset the bios using the jumper if there is one.

Hp f2105 monitor goes immediately to sleep mode

Sounds like your monitor is not processing the resolution signal from the graphics card. Reboot the computer in "safe mode with networking", from there you can play around with the resolution, start low resolution and work your way up to test the monitor.

install all the latest drivers for your computer from the manufacturers website for the motherboard ( chipset drivers ) the graphics card ( which will help with the display ) and your network card and anything else you need to install driver wise.

This will allow your operating system ( windows xp sp 3 ) to know how to use or communicate with the hardware devices ie graphics card, motherboard etc.

Playing DVDs on Laptop through the TV

Here's what's happening... software companies like CyberLink subscribe to the Macrovision requirements for playing DVDs and protecting copyrighted materials.

Macrovision has approved numerous video cards for what they call "TV Out" which allows the movie to be displayed on your TV.

Unfortunately, your Dell Inspiron does not have a Macrovision approved and supported video card in it, so it gives instructions to the computer to disable TV Out and not allow it to play anywhere besides the computer.

PC- Graphics display

Hi Ev, you can go to this link & allow NVIDIA to check you're 8500GT card is up to date.
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

As far as your DVD players not showing display, I need to ask you a question. Are you running Windows Vista? If you are please check windows update service. MS (might have a fix).

Let me know either way so I can suggest a fix.
