    same problem, no solution

Same problem: wireless lan doesn't come on, light stays amber. No device listed in the device manager other than the NVIDIA nForce networking controller, which I believe to only be the LAN device.

I have the same problem and I own the same model HP tx1000.
So far, I don't know how to fix it. HP guy told me to up date wireless driver but it didn't work. I also updated the bios. Still, it didn't work either.

I have seen many HP users having the same problems, but it seem that company itself didn't know anything.

I am having the same problem with my tx1000 tablet notebook wireless card: SPS# 407160-001. The device manager suddenly does not show any wireless card connected or available. I've never had a piece of hardware NOT SHOW UP on the device manager like this before. If it were a driver incompatibility, I could roll it back and be done with it, but that's impossible when it's not under the manager. All of the normal routes of fixing a shotty wireless connection have been tried. I replaced the hardware with another mini pci wireless card 407576-001 and I still have the same problem. If it is a hardware problem, it's not the card itself. I have a feeling that it's a software/driver problem but have tried everything that I can think of involving driver re-installs and bios updates. It's a very odd problem. Could it be a physical connection problem with the wire leads? Could it be a larger software issue involving an automatic update? Let me know if you have any ideas. Please don't tell me to turn the wireless switch "on" as a solution.

I had the same problem. I let the computer shut down for awhile (more for my own sanity than its) then when I started back up I pressed the Windows button and X. A panel came up which I'd never seen before and it included the Wireless Assistant switch, which had become disabled. I changed it to enable and pressed the amber wireless button on the desktop ... and it came on! I'm still amazed, but I'm typing this over my network connection. I hope this helps someone.

Sir, recently I purchased HP DV4-2112 Laptop, my Network card is not working. Kindly advise me.

I got your issue as the network card is not working in the laptop:

Its is advisable to check with a professional but before this try with the following steps

Step 1: Go to Start

Step 2:Click All Programs and choose Accessories

Step 3:Right click on Command Prompt

Step 4: Click run as administrator

Step 5:Type ipconfig/release and when that finishes type ipconfig/renew

If the HP Pavilion ZD8000, ZD7000, ZD9000 wireless card still can’t work, you better check the BIOS setting.

Commonly after install the new operating system the wireless card setting was turned off in the BIOS automatically.

Hope this would help you

With regards

I'm not sure what's wrong with my laptop, my HP tx1000. My computer is just not recognizing the adapter in the device manager.

See if you can ping your NIC.

Start -> Run
Type in cmd
In the command box type:

If these pings fail try turning off your computer, unplugging it, removing the battery, and holding down the power button for 20 seconds. This should make your computer recognize your NIC.

If this solves your problem please leave feedback.

HP Pavilion TX1000 wireless network adapter dissappeared and i can not see any network to connect to.

Just a thought:

There may be a switch or button that turns the wireless network off.

Check your manual or you may see the keyboard icon with radio waves going up, press this key. Check connection now.

To isolate the issue. please install the adapter on another computer. If the other computer does not detect the adapter then that means the adapter is faulty.

Cannot access wireless networt on my HP Pavilion

I need more information from you here. Do you have a wireless card? How far away is the router from your computer? If your router is protected by wep or wap, or needs mac address, you need to enter in this information on your computer so the router recognizes your hp pavillion.
