The power went out here at work and my acer desktop wouldn't log into anything (ie email, internet) when the power came back on. So I clicked shut down and it turned off but now it won't turn back on. The blue light on the power button was flashing but has now stopped.

Try taking out all peripherals like mouse printer keyboard leave screen pluggged n then press and hold the power button for 2 minutes then plug in your mouse and keyboard and see if it boots hope this helps

LOL, why in the world would you buy an All-In-One desktop? One thing breaks and you lose your whole system until it's fixed. And they do break.
You don't restore your computer just because you lose a wireless connection. Most times all you have to do to get the connection back is cycle the router by turning it off and one again. You're going to lose connection lots of times in the future due to power failures, thunder storms, etc. Just cycle the router.
I'm not sure what password it could be asking for, but since you did not set one, try just hitting enter without keying a password.
There are a lot of places on the internet that have drivers (old & new), such as http://www.drivers.com , and I would try using Google Search for Acer and try to get the headquarters, corporation, etc. Most all brands of PC's still have drivers available for anything they have sold if they are a reputable company and I believe Acer is. Also search with Google Search for (acer veriton m261 for Windows 7 32 bit) all at once, in one line. You will get all kinds of hits on acer, veriton, Windows 7, just Windows, etc. Sounds like you are having a problem, so I wouldn't leave any site unexplored. Also try searching for single words like Acer, Veriton, M261, etc., etc. Good Luck! I'll be checking back to see if you were successful or if I think of anything else. Its not a big problem dear ,you can uninstall the ie8 from add or remove programmes in control panel.
Goto control panel ,open add or remove programmes,find out the ie8 ,select and remove it from there.If you unable to find the ie 8 in the list or if therewill be no remove option there then tru wo remove windows service pack3 from the same list.

Download Firefox. It is a browser and much better than IE.
