Question about Sony KDF-E42A10 42 in. LCD Television

Sony theromstat problem guy

I dont remember what one i got from the part website and what one was in the tv first. I took the new one out and posted the repair question again.

Here is what i have

1st one
stamped # on the metal is CS-7L 75 9155
printed on the black plastic S11

2nd one
stamped# on the metal is CS-7L 75B 6096
printed on the black plastic S19

just to be sure i have the correct location, it is the thermostat by the fan for the bulb
and yes i do have a meter, i have a background in electronic repair

i was wondering if i could just jump a resistor across the terminals to get it to work in the mean time.

You should be able to jump them directly together to get it to work but remember if there is a problem in the set and that lamp is getting to hot it can melt the chassi, screen, and whatever else is plastic in there. that thermal fuse is there to protect against the lamp getting to hot and melting things. I would reccomend at least juming the wires together at least temporarly to see if the set comes on that way if it still doesnt come on we know that the thermal fuse is not the problem and can troubleshoot furthur. let me know what you find!! sorry hope this makes sense im driving down the road and typeing, doesnt work to well.

If its inop after jumping it out you will need to know how to use a meter to keep troubleshooting. do you know how?

sounds like a bad g-board. I have never seen it before but that's what everything is indicating now.

What wires coming from the theromstat conect to which wires coming out of the wall

suggest this: hire a technician to fix it for you. you would need the wiring diagram for the thermostat and to find which wires go where in the wall.

this is a task that is normally beyond the ability of an owner. It requires some technical knowledge of thermostat wiring, as well as using a voltmeter.

you might post an ad to locate another owner of your model RV, then ask them to pull the thermostat off the wall and take some pictures to send to you - showing the wiring connected.

Can i use any usb wireless adaptor for the bdp-s370?

Interesting timing for your post, as I also just got this player and was sitting down this morning to figure this problem out.. Unbelievably, Sony's UWA-BR100 wireless adapter is the only one that will work. I found the info in several reviews online (including one from an angry guy on Sony's own website) and finally had it confirmed by Sony support. You'd think if they were going to do somehting like this, they'd at least make it clear on the box and in product info, etc. I'm returning my new TV and the Bluray on principle and will go for Samsung,
