No, what do you want to achieve? Hotter water or turn on at a lower flow? The flow shitches are are either weighted switches or resistors, depending upon who makes it.

Fault Code 196 on Carrier system how do you fix?

Your sensor is measuring a micro voltage to reference or ground.
Draino is a strong alkali and will conduct electricity very easily and will give the sensor a false positive.
You need to neutralize the draino so only clean water is flowing.
Try vinegar and then flush with fresh water to clear out the contaminants.

On our AE125, the thermal cut-off is tripping AFTER the water is turned off. The heating element is getting so hot you cannot touch it

The elements are getting over heated then set temperature. You have a defective thermostat. The elements will continue to heat until they reach the set point of the thermostat. Try to lower the temp setting first. If that does not fix it, you'll need to repalce the thermostat, located very near the element, under the screwed cover on the side of the tank.------------- To know how this heater works, read as follows:---

Because electric tankless water heaters have to instantaneously raise the temperature of incoming water to a selected hot water temperature, they require very powerful heating elements. To power the heating elements of this 27,000 Watt model, you will need to upgrade the electrical service you were using for your storage tank water heater. The PowerStar AE125 will require a 240V, 200 Amp service. In addition you will need to install three 40 amp dedicated double pole breakers in your electrical box. In Canada, you will require one 120 Amp breaker.

The PowerStar AE125 electric tankless water heater incorporates a very sensitive flow sensor, and three heating elements. The heat from the electric elements is electronically modulated on the basis of the flow rate of the water entering the water heater, and the temperature rise that the water heater must achieve. Through its electronic modulation system, the AE125 maintains a very precise hot water temperature. As a safety precaution, each of the three heating modules is protected by an electro-mechanical thermal cut-out. This device will cut power to a particular module if the temperature gets too hot.

This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

My heat rises higher than the designated temperature. For example, if I set the thermostat to 60 the temperature will go up to 73. Invensys 9405

there could be a few things causing this, the first would be a bad thermostat. The second would be an improper setting of a heat anticipator on the thermostat, the third could be a stuck zone valve that is allowing heat to go in the zone as another zone is calling. Or it could be a stuck flow check also allowing hot water to flow through the zone much like a stuck zone valve.

If your thermostat is an older one with Mercury in it, replace it with a new one and dispose of properly. If the thermostat is newer, remove the cover or consult the owners manual to see if there is an adjustment that shuts off the thermostat a bit sooner to compensate for the heat that will be released from the system so you do not overshoot your setting on the thermostat. There may be either DIP switches to adjust the setting or a small pointer that slides over a small coil of wire and acts like a dimmer switch. Try adjusting and testing the system to see if it helps. Remember the original settings in case it does not help.

If you have zone valves (small boxes that allow flow of water to the zone) it may be stuck open allowing water to flow into that zone as another zone calls. You can test this by feeling the pipes at a baseboard when you know that the zone over heating is not calling for heat (turn thermostat to lowest setting). Check other zones to see if there is a call for heat in one of them. Make sure you adjust one of the other zones to force a call for heat in it, After a few minutes, feel the pipes in the zone overheating and see if the pipes are getting hot (be careful). This is the same test to check for a stuck flow check valve.

Rinnai infinity standing in the shower and it suddenly goes cold for a few seconds no other water been run in the house or it goes cold and goes to a trickle then comes on again. Could the heat ex changer...

We are a bit confused by the device that you are using to heat the Hot water with- Is it an instantaneous HW heater?--
They are pressure sensitive-- Could it be, that your water pressure drops momentarily, (which causes the instantaneous heater to shut down its flame-- and you get a pulse of Cold water.)

If your hot water is a tank-- It is possible that something is cycling your hot water away-- like rinse pulses on the Washing machine)-- or your dishwasher?

Tell us more about the Rinnal Air Conditioners and what they have to do with Hot water and your SHower?

Tell us more-

My Rinnai 24 will only start when I use the the hot water in the kitchen (which is closer to the heater). If I open any of the hot water taps in the bathroom it doesn't work.. I have to start the hot water...

Looks like your recirculation pump might be bad. If your opening a valve close enough to the heater and it comes on, It sounds like it's giving your pressure switch a false reading and allowing it to come one while the farther away you get, it is not enough line pressure to overcome the safety's of the heater.

I have a 425 gas tankless water heater. In 3 years in the winter (and sometimes warmer weather) I have never gotten a hot shower. The water starts out warm, and in the middle of the shower changes to...

Is it a bosch. What is the exact model number.I have one and i love it once you get it set.It seems that there are two flame levels low water flow and high water flow.If your shower has a water saving restricter in it it may not flow enough to let the flame get too high.So i would remove it.If there is a knob on the front turn it all the way clockwise and try it.There is also a screw on the inside that you can adjust the low water flow flame , it the brass one with a locking screw on it.Your manual should show it.If you need to adjust it turn on your shower and go check the flame and use that screw to increase the flame.Hope this helps and let me know how that works

Vaillant Ecotec combi boiler - radiators working but no hot water flow to taps

David,

The fact that you're getting a little burst of domestic hot water suggests that the boiler is capable of circulating hot primary loop water through the heat exchanger, but doesn't necessarily do so when it needs to.

What seems to be lacking is a recognition that domestic hot water is now being drawn off, and that the boiler needs to fire up and divert the primary flow through the heat exchanger.

A good place to start might be the flow switch (usually in the bottom of the boiler, where the cold water supply comes in) or the electrical connections to it.
