You will add 2oz of oil to compressor then stand it up on the pulley so oil lubes front seal. let it sit for 10 min like that then install, its a good thing to replace the dryer alot of parts places make you replace it inorder to get warranty for compressor. if you replace the dryer then add 1oz inside of that, after you put it togther and line are connected spin compressor by hand 15 times to help get some oil out of compressor and into lines, make sure to vacuum the system for 1/2 hour to get air and moisture out of system. a vacuum pump is needed to do this. good day.
Use non detergent air compressor oil. It can be found at Lowes, Homedepot, and even Walmart. It is sold in small containers for about $2-3 dollars. A synthetic blend air compressor oil is needed when the unit is used in severe conditions. Synthetic air compressor oil sold at Lowes $6.95 and other stores will take more heat. Second choice is 30w non-detergent motor oil. Engine oils tend to produce carbon on the reed valves in the head if used extensively. I have been using the Lowes Kobalt brand of air compressor oil for some years in my Makita and Rol Air compressors with good results. The part number for Makita brand of oil is 18112-A quart size. It is only available by special order where I live. Good Luck!
Open the plug at the bottom of the tank while the compressor is on so that it will blow out all the crud. The black liquid is the gunk from the oil in the compressor and staknant water. When the crud stops coming out and you herar just air, you should close the valve and you are set to go. You should drain this tank al least once a month if you use the compressor a lot. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer. Thanks.
