TV sets with HDMI connectors that break.

Owners of TVs using HDMI.
Do NOT allow the wires to hang at the back of the TV. The force of the cable pulling on the jack will tear the jack loose inside - very expensive repair. I put a loop of a zap-strap at the middle of the back of the set. I run the wires through this loop and then horizontally over to the HDMI jack I want. All the strain is carried by the zap-strap loop (Or wire tie or plastic ring or whatever)

Toshiba lcd tv 32" making noise by speaker

test this steps and fix it. God bless you

Line noise is feeding in from the AC line. Use an AC liner filter to block the line noise. RF (radio frequency) interference is being picked up by the power line or wiring. Remove sources of RF interference, such as fluorescent lighting or wireless devices not designed to work with audio/video equipment. Wires between the components are on top of one of the components; the transformers are causing RF interference. Be sure that wiring goes behind the components rather than on top or between components. If there is an equalizer in use, there could be a ground loop. Ground loops can be resolved by installing GLI's (ground loop isolators) on the cables connecting to the equalizer.

Our new tv does not have a scart socket. This is necessary for a deaf person's loop. Whatnismthe solution

Your TV might have and AV In connection. If so, buy one AV to SCART connector socket from local electronic spare part shop. Thus you can convert the AV in to SCART.

Lg 37lg30 stuck in a loop, it flips between AV2 and DTV1 every 2 seconds. Batteries in remote are fine. Briefly see normal picture when pressing remote buttons before the AV2/DTV1 loop continues. Managed...

Maybe there are buttons on the remote or tv set that are stuck, check these. If no luck then hide the remote so it can't communicate with the set, if it still is acting up unplugg the set for 30 min or more and plug it back in. This may clear a fault that is stuck. If it still is not working correct then the tuner is going bad. Check all devices that are plugged in to the set and unplug them from the tv so the tv does not recognize there is a device connected this may also help.

Tv won't turn on. Stuck in loop of red standby light clicking on /off.

sounds like the unit has entered a protection mode where a short has developed somewhere inside the tv. This response is the power supply in the tv trying to start up - seeing the overload and shutting down to protect itself, this loop will continue until the short has been resolved - best to get it repaired by a technician

How do you loop video content on an apple TV? I am trying to loop short video content for a commercial application in a public area on apple tv.

With iOS 4.2 you can create a playlist in iTunes, drag the video into the play list, play it in iTunes and hit the "Loop" button in the lower left hand corner. Then use Airplay to stream the video to the Apple TV. The new black ATV will work out of the box, you can jailbreak the old ATV with ATV Flash and install RemoteHD under apps and then you can stream to the old ATV using the same method.

DENNON AVR-2016 - can't seem to turn it on - it turns off after a few seconds. Help! maunog@hotmail.com

Check the speaker wires at both ends for possible shorts. One tiny strand of copper is enough to do it, and set off the amp protection circuit.
If there are no problems with the speaker wires, also check your RCA plugs for a loose or shorted connection. (Turn down the receiver volume to about -30dB or lower before the amp clicks on when checking.)
Is the signal distorted before it cuts out? Another possibility is a feedback loop, in which you have a source (especially a TV) that is both receiving and supplying a signal to the receiver without going through a tape-loop circuit like VCR1, etc. For example, if you connect the output from the TV to "TV" and also have a DVD player running through the receiver *to* the TV, you'll get a feedback loop which will overload the receiver and may trigger the protection circuit.

Toshiba TV colours wrong pink sky, blue clouds and green people??

Inside your TV there is like a loop of insulated wirings the loop around the screen. This is to demagnetized the tube. There is a varistor which looks like a thick coin with two leads on it, or sometimes it looks like a flat ceramic capacitor that control this loop of wire. When you first turn on your TV current goes through the loop of wires to demagnetize the TV then the varistor shuts off. Sometimes this varistor fails, causing smeard colors. You can also demagnetize the screen without opening the TV. Using a hand held demagnetizer. It can be purchased at some electronic parts store.

I have purple heads on my tv

Maybe you have some kind of magnetic material on top of the TV. TV screens respond to magnetic field. If the problem is not caused by a magnetic material being near it, then it is the degauss (meaning demagnetize) circuit inside. You can also degauss a screen using electromagnet. If placed around the screen of the TV in the right way. I have never used a magnet to demagnetize a TV screen, but maybe orienting the magnet at just the proper angle may also demagnetize it by cancelling the magnetized area. You can also make a TV screen demagnetizer using a loop maybe made out of plastic tube and winding enamelled wire onto it. The loop has to be about the size of your TV screen. Make sure you put tape over the whole thing, and connect a plug so you can plug it to the ac outlet. Once plugged in, the ac current will produce magnetic field to cancell out the magnetized area, when you wave the loop around your screen. I once made this as one of my tools when I worked at a TV repairshop.
