Question about Panasonic Projection Televisions

Open Question

Set top box Panasonic TU-HDT104A. Cant change from channel 0. Have tried using remote and channel buttons on device. Have unplugged device completely and tried setting it up again but it just flickers between 0 and the channel you are trying to switch to then ends on 0. The IR led flashes all the time. Do you know if something could be blown or could there be any way of resetting the device to fix the problem?

I'm afraid you could have a power supply problem causing the optic engine and light not to work correctly, or you could have a bad DM board, or a bad light engine. the two latter troubles are very expensive to repair. :>( Good Luck

SOURCE: set top box and remote control

I have the same problem. When I move the 8300HDC away from the TV, or power off the TV, the remote responds. There seems to be some kind of RF interference, which makes no sense since the TV shouldn't emit RF, and the the box should be using IR only for remote input. My TV is a 46" LCD Samsung. Try turning off the TV and see if the 8300HDC responds to powering on and off with the remote.

You have the V21 chassis when the led blinks constantly you need the V21/V19 DM repair kit which has the parts and step by step instructions with pictures on how to do the repair. And its less than 40.00 for the entire kit with free shipping. Here is the link its listed under the repair kit category.

Check to make sure the channel down button is not stuck. If it is not the button is probably defective. Mits has had a lot of problems with the buttons.

SOURCE: I bought an Alba CDVB4 and the remote isn't right

Hi

Not sure if you found the problem for this, but I had the same problem and couldn't find any reference to this except your question so thought I would put up an answer in case it can help you or anyone else.

Aparently, Alba have got hold of the codes that Toshiba use for their remote controls, so if you have a Toshiba telly an Alba product like this won't work. The only solution being to return it and get a different make.

I returned mine twice for a straight exchange thinking it was just a manufacture fault before I found this out. I then exchanged it for a Bush set top box - only a fiver more - and it now works PERFECT!

I hope this helps some.

If you are using the remote, try changing the channels manually from the set. If you are using a Hi Def box, use component cables and connect to a Input.

I can help you reset the lamp timer for your Panasonic PT-52LCX66 Projection HDTV.

The buttons used are the TV's volume down and the remote's number 0.

Follow the steps in my Fixya Tip for the complete lamp timer reset procedure.

Not all buttons on front work

Sounds like the front panel buttons are your trouble, you can disconnect these buttons from the rear of the set ,unplug the set and remove the back cover, just below the top screws you removed you can look under and see the top of the tubes,in front of the middle tube is a small board, unplug the right top cable and this will restore the set, just the front buttons will not work, use the remote

RCA TV won't change channels

Your set uses the 195 series chassis and you have something set wrong in your guide plus. Go into the TV's menu and do a complete set-up. Take the remote and press MENU, then "8" to enter setup, then press "1" for "begin setup now" and then press "1" for English, and so on. You must enter "set up guide plus+", then press OK on the remote to choose "setup", select "USA", enter your zip code, and then if you choose "yes" for "do you have cable?" you MUST then choose "no" for "do you have a cable box" If you choose "yes" for that choice, your tuner will lock on one channel no matter what channel you try entering. After choosing "no" for "do you have a cable box", choose "no" for "do you have a VCR?", exit the guide plus menu and then skip the rest of the steps by pressing "2", and then exit the main menu by pressing "0". Your channels will then work normally.
