Do I need the cord with the blue, green and black plugs because the display unit is not colour coded. What is the best configuration to use or the DVD player. I was able to get the screen to display the channels when i plugged in a really old video player but it was a luke. I am very confused.

IF YOU HAVE CONNECTED THE DVD PLAYER VIA COMPOSITE, COMPONENT, OR HDMI CABLES YOU WILL NEED TO USE THE REMOTE FOR THE TV AND PRESS THE SOURCE OR INPUT BUTTON TO CYCLE THROUGH THE INPUTS UNTIL YOU FIND THE ONE THAT YOU CONNECTED THE DVD TO. IF YOUR REMOTE DOES NOT HAVE THESE BUTTONS YOU CAN GO INTO THE MENU SCREEN OF THE TV AND PERFORM THE SAME THING USING THE MENU CHOICES.
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. IF MORE ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED POST A COMMENT TO THIS SOLUTION AND I WILL TRY AGAIN.

Can you tell me the brand and model of the dvd and tv so I might give you a more precise solution?

  • Jim Franks Sep 23, 2008

I wish I had the exact answer but the model tv you have is very vague on their array settings so I am going to give it my best shot. You may eventually have to try trial and error obviously. Sorry I could not be of more help but below is a diagram with how I would attempt the connection.

How do you connect a toshiba dvd to a tlc plasma tv

First of all unplug tv and tosh dvd.
1.connect the antenna(digital aerial) to the ATENNA IN jack of the dvd.
2.connect the ANTENNA OUT jack of the dvd to the Aerial jack of your TV.Using a RF cable(usually supplied if new)
3.Connect AV1(TV) scart socket of the dvd to the scart socket of your tv.Using a scart cable.

Then you are ready to start and program the channels.

Awa dvd recorder dr711 can this be connected to a set top box

If it's like the DR620 it will only receive analogue from the TV aerial. I connect the AV out connections on my set box to the inlet AV on the recorder and watch and record through the recorder's "rear AV input" selection.

I cannot get my DVR4300 to go in to TV channel change mode while recording a program

Why not simply record a channel tuned into the vcr and use your tv remote to watch a channel tuned into your tv? that is how it is normaly done... don't forget a vcr/pvr/dvd recorder has it's own channels just like a tv does... just no screen of it's own the tv has of course it's own channels and in fact does not even need to be switched on in order for your recorder to record a program neither does the recorder need to be on to use your tv

Need help setting up DVD-VR375 with compatible SAMSUNG TV

if it has component (red, blue, green) cables, plug one set into dvd player's "in's" and tv sets "out's'. you may have to play with the tv channels to be able to watch movie. you just change channels, go from "3" backward until you find a picture and sound.

Setting up a new Philips DVD Recorder

You can download Philips manuals from http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpproduct_selector.pl?scy=GB&slg=ENG

although the problem seems to be that you need to select the correct AV channel on your TV. The connection on the TV that you have used will be labelled.

Cable box, digital service, channels not appearing

connect the RF lead from the wall to your cable box then out from that to your dvd then out from your dvd to your tv. now connect a scart lead from the cable box to AV 2 on the DVD then connect AV 1 on the DVD to your TV if you have a second scart on your tv connect that to the cable box. NOW on the DVD select AV2 now whatever is on the cable box will be recorded onto DVD/VCR. Put the DVD recorder into VCR mode and set it to auto tune all the Digital Video Broadcasts. You cannot physically tune the cable boxes own channels into the DVD via RF it has to be via a scart.
