I think u need to check monitor properties. In those properties in screen saver mode there is a power button.u need to select that power button and change the turn off monitor option.

I stoped the monitor from sleeping by going into the montitor's menu, management, then sleep. Turn on the never allow to sleep mode. We were having some of your mentioned issues with the icons and with the monitor not waking up. This fixed that. Now the computer will go to sleep and when started the monitor comes on instantly.

I have an Acer 24" wide screen LCD monitor. When it sits idle for awhile it puts itself into sleep mode. Usually you would only need to touch the keyboard or mouse & the monitor would revive, a week...

jlichtenegge, Wish all lcd monitor problem descriptions where as good as you have done!!! Here are some suggestions. Use ACER warranty first if valid!!!! If warranty not an option, then do cash+old unit swap for a refurbished same model if ACER has a swapout program for infantile failed units. (short SMPS/CCFL inverter board lifespan) If monitor DOWN TIME is super critical then you or local electronics technician will need to DIY repair unit by resoldering the thermally fractured intermittant soldered to board component lead that is causing "switch-mode-power-supply" to go into full or partial shutdown mode. You may need an inspection grade microscope to visually locate the oxidized intermittant connection. Let me (lmistyrel on aim.com) know what you intend to do fmi Hope this helps. Read more of my fixya profile to get more of a handle on this type of failure. Bye for now.

THis is a problem of the invertor board. If you are technically able you need to disasseble the monitor and resolder components around the red or yellow inverter transformers.

Cannot get me monitor out of sleep mode, please help?

Hi

Pls check the power management properties in device manager to check if the option to wake the computer from sleep for the keyboard and mouse are enabled.
You may also try to change the power plan or create a new power plan and check if you are able to wake the computer from sleep.
If this problem started a few days back, then you may try to do a system restore.

Hit the keyboard keys. It is better to just turn sleep and hibernate off and just use a screen saver or tun it off.

ViewSonic Monitor has trouble to wake up after been shut down?

Ok sounds to me like a power supply problem.. this a a fairly common symptom. I suggest that as a temporary fix you set the monitor to NOT turn the power off to the monitor in sleep mode if possible, in your power settings for the monitor.
