Problem for Systemax (036052) PC Desktop
Windows XP2 to Windows XP3? HELP!

I have service pack 2 and im thinking to upgrading it to server
pack 3 because I have lots of problem with service pack 2. For ex. My
control panel in the add and remove program. All programs don't show.
And other things I am having problems with. If I update will it be better and fix
my problems? Also I'm kinda confused. Well I tried to check the update thing and it tells me to close all open
programs and back up my system. If I don't back up my system, will my files,games, etc. be there still? Thanks

It says SP3 is 66MB-100MB something. Will it really take up space? Also I have tried this one program but It only shows programs installed on Add/Remove Programs and does not show hidden programs. So CCleaner must be the same. But I'll give it a shot.

Well I can tell you your issues with All programs and Control Panel not displaying are only caused by 2 things. One is a corporate IT department preventing you from accessing that functionality of your system and two is a virus known as "Virus Alert". Check out next to your time and instead of AM or PM it will show "VIRUS ALERT!!!". Download Dial-a-Fix (http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/Dial-a-fix) and run the Fix Policies in the bottom left hand corner. This will fix your control panel and your ability to install/uninstall programs. The All Programs is a bit trickery but let me know if you want to try to fix it.

just close all your programs and then do the update, I did it few days ago on another computer and it went just fine. All your files will be there. try CCleaner to uninstall those programs that don't show up n there www.ccleaner.com
