Finepix j10 wont take pictures

I charged my battery and tried to take a picture. Nothing happens when I hold the shutter button down. The first light under the zoom button blinks orange for a minute then turns green and the camera turns off. The battery shows that it is fully charged and I am able to view pictures previously taken. Whats wrong??
