Samsung HL56186W Fan question

I saw that you posted a answer regarding the cooling fans on this tv. Could you tell me where the 2 cooling fans are located. I have found one and it seems to be working but I could not locate the second one. The one I found was in the center in the rear of the TV next to the light bulb. Any help that you may have would be greatly appreciated. THx.

SOURCE: Cooling fan motor is making loud humming noise

You will have to pull out the light engine. That will consist of 4 or more screws and disconnecting some plugs. The the whole unit slides out where you can get to the fan housing.

Unless you're mechanically inclined, you should not try it as you could damage the assembly.

I don't know the part number off hand and some of those have newer part numbers as replacement for the original. Just do a google search to come up with a part number.

You can try a hard reset: Unplug TV from AC mains and remove all cables from TV. Wait about 2 hours and let the tv cool and replug to AC power and redo the cabling. Switch on the TV and see if it works..if the fan does not run then you may need to replace the fan as its vital part which cools the tv part ,to fix this issue....

And use his link to replace the cooling fan....

Good luck...

Where is the cooling fan control located on a 1999 jeep chrekee

cooling of the engine? or you, A/c? cooling.
guess at engine cooling....
deep in side the PCM is answer
better, its now software , there. .

the pcm on new cars, have a EFI sensor called ECT
the designers woke up one day, and said hark, why have 3 sensors
1 for fan
2 for A/c
3 for EFI.
answer, was, you don't.
the FSM is free, to see, and look at that.
why not post the symptoms so we can tell you what is wrong and not guess.?

The ECT is the main engine coolant temp sensor
if this sensor is over about 215f, they PCM closes the rad coo

i must warn you , if you dont have A/c as some dont. the engine has
a fan clutch, as fully stated in the FSM.

free to look, posted 100s of times here. but there it is,
see engine cooling chapter.
then see the schematic for the wiring of the fan relay.
both pages tell you what you have.

if its HVAC cooling, then see HVAC

My dvd player keeps saying fanchk and then tuns its self off

Hi JB,

It's telling you to check the cooling fan on the unit. Electronics are dust magnets. Sometimes the fans get jammed.

At any rate, make sure trhe fan is functioning and clear of dust molecules.

BEST regards

Check fan # 2

Samsung Consumer LCD tv's do not have fans except on the higher end models. The Commercial models do. Yours is a Consumer model. I suspect that you have a DLP tv. In that case replace the Lamp Fan. It is the Larger of the three fans. With the rear cover off, you will see a Blue switch lever on the lower right side of the tv. Hold it in a up position and turn "on" the set with your tv remote. Then look for any fan that is not running. Then order that fan. there is a large fan that cools the Lamp. The other fans are of the same smaller size and one cools the DND chip and the other cools the Ballast.

Samsung HL56186W Fan question

It's been a while since I had to clean the fans, from memory, there was a small fan close to the base of the removable lamp assembly, and the larger one with a shroud directing the airflow round the lamp.

Hope that helps.
