If you have a router, try to wire the connection, its faster than wireless in the first place and also errorless.

Cant connect to XBOX LIVE through wireless adapter it says to trouble shoot connection

Are you running through a wireless router? Most commonly, if this is a recent problem after purchasing wireless adapter, that your wireless router needs to be reset and it's configurations changed to allow for connection to your Xbox. If you can connect to Live with an ethernet cable, then this is most likely your issue.

Try turing off your router for about 30 seconds and then restarting it; then turn on your xbox and test connection. If you have a successful connection to xbox LIVE you should be good to go.

Xbox disconnecting

Log into the router and make sure that you have not limited the number of wireless connections allowed to access the internet. You also want to adjust your antivirus/firewall settings so that all devices in your house are 'trusted'.

well if your on live try formating the hard drive and clearing the cache
heres how
Clear hard drive cache
Turn on the Xbox 360 while holding A to remove old cache files from the hard drive. Note: Your saved games and media will stay intact, however downloaded game updates will be deleted. They can be restored by playing the game again while Xbox Live enabled.
Enter the "System" menu and select the "Memory" option. Highlight the hard drive, then press Y. The Device Options screen for the hard drive will appear, with "Rename" and "Format" options. Press X(2), LB(2), X(2) to clear the cache. Alternately, enter the "System" menu and select the "Memory" option. Press Y for device options, then press either LB, RB, X(2), LB(2), X(2) or X(2), LB, RB, X(2), LB, RB. You will get a message stating that the system is performing maintenance.

Wireless

WPA keys are configured into the wireless router by the owner. If you do not remember your WPA key you need to access your wireless router's configuration to retrieve it. An alternative possibly could be to retrieve it from one of your other wireless devices (like a laptop) that is already connected to the router. if it will display the value.
