Question about Symbol MC9090 Barcode Scanner

Open Question

Unable to access to internal LAN web-site using Internet Explorer in Windows Mobile 5

Dear Experts,

We have been working on a project to connect several wireless scanners through the wireless access points (AP's) so that we can use the application exposed through WebSAP Console.

The wireless scanners are able to associate with the AP's and I can also ping successfully to the local server within our LAN which was installed the WebSAP Console.

I can access the web-site of that local server through our normal PC's and laptops via the Internet Explorer (IE). But when I use the IE on the Symbol MC 9090G wireless scanner, I cannot browse the required web-site instead I get an error message "The page you are looking for cannot be found due to unknown error 0x800c0003".

Our company setup uses Proxy server and I have specified the same script to reference similar to our office PC setup. Not sure what is missing from our setup.

Looking forward to your kind advice and proposals as I have working on this issue for a few months and even with the vendors help, they have not been able to find a solution yet.

Thank you in advance.

Warmest regards,
Jimmy Boey.

SOURCE: Windows Mobile Symbol Find WLAN error

Warm boot the MC55 if that doesn't help then cold boot it, if that doesn't help then reload the Operating system, if that doesn't fix it then send it back to Motorola for a warranty repair.

Not able to apply the proxy settings for internet explorer

Hi,

Open Microsoft Internet Explorer and from the 'Tools' menu select 'Internet Options'. from the 'tools' menu.

Select the 'Connections' tab.

Select 'LAN Settings'. In the 'Proxy server' section select 'Use a proxy server for LAN ..., enter your proxy address, and enter port 8080. 'Bypass proxy server for local addresses' is selected if you are accessing network resources through a intranet. When complete, select OK twice.
NOTE:

After you apply your settings to the web browser test your Internet connection by attempting to access an external Web site such as http://www.google.com. Test more than one Web site. If you are unable to access external Internet resources, verify the spelling of your entries. If spelling is correct, contact your company's helpdesk to find out if there is a problem with the corporate proxy server.

When using my D-Link-655 router, I can't access some Web sites, but I can access others. This applies to all computers on my network. I can, for example, access my work (company internal) websites and use...

Have you isolated the problem by directly plugging your computer directly to your modem, bypassing your router? If you have done this but still cannot browse some websites, then this is a DNS problem with your Internet Provider. Try using Open DNS, 208.67.220.220 as Primary and 208.67.222.222 as secondary. Then try to browse again. But if you have plugged directly to the modem and was able to access those websites, then there is a restriction on your router and you may need to press and hold the reset button to reset it back to factory defaults.

Error code 80048820

MSN Message error 80048820, unable to signin

Problems:
- While you try to Sign in MSN Messenger you getting an error message with the no. 80048820
- Unable to Sing in

Probably reasons-
- Your system time/date incorrect
- Internet Proxy setting incorrect
- softpub.dll disable/missing
- Firewall does not allow to access, etc.

Solution-

Step#1

- Remove Internet Explorer proxy server settings and check the 'Automatically detect settings'.
- Launch Internet Explorer, click "Tools" and then click Internet Options. From the Internet Options dialog box, go to the Connections tab. Click LAN Setting. Uncheck the Use a proxy server for your LAN checkbox. Finally tick/check: 'Automatically detect settings'.

Step#2
- Correct the computer system's Time/Day as current (if required).

Step#3
- Click Start (Button), and then click Run, type regsvr32 softpub.dll click ok.

Step#4
- Turn off the firewall. Check firewall settings such as Norton: "Block access to secure sites". If this cures the problem, make sure that Microsoft's MSN Messenger is allowed full access through your firewall.
