How can i order the l7 and do u except paypal? im geting the kicker zx1000.1 for 240 and the l7 for 160 mine ben working fine for about a year straite the rms on the 12 is only 750 so the zx 1000.1 would keep it pumpin at 2 ohms now if it was at 4ohm im lookin around what 500-600 rms at 4 ohms but the thing ive ben hering is that kicker l7s cant push the peak power continuse becus thay blow easy i dont know about that but i like mine thay bang hard. on that l7 in a box u got is that 150 with shipping or just for speaker and the box?how long of a warrenty does it have?

i know what your saying.i instal car sterios the kicker zx 1000.1 will put out 500rms at 4 ohm. if i have a to ohm speaker then i have to just conect the + form coil #1 to the amp and the - from coil #2 to the amp and that is about it. on the 4 ohm speaker u have to conect the coils in serise to bring the ohms down to 2 ohm witch is solid red to black with dot with a short wire then the othrs to the amp and so forth.the specs on the 06 zx 1000.1 i have said it was 500rms at 4 ohms and 1000 at 2 ohms so the best thang to do is hook it up at 2 ohms that way its 500 wats away from its peak power

The L7 I have is brand new in the box (not a speaker box just the retail packaging box) and the rms is 750 watts RMS and 1500 watts peak, but you are correct they blow easy when you push rated power to them, the hifonics subs will take 1200 watts rms all day long and over 3500 peak for burping at competitions, i run mine at 2000 watts everyday in a daily driver. if you hook 1 dual 4 ohm sub to a zx1000.1 it will be 2 ohm load on the amp so you will get 1000 watts to the sub so if you want to run it slightly underpowered to keep it from blowing use the 750.1 per sub, i can do those at about 250 each shipped

the price is 150 plus 10$ flat rate USPS shipping and yes I accept paypal Wyattconnolly@msn.com .

the warranty starts the day you buy it for 12 months but kicker will not cover burned or blown voice coils, that is why i recommended the hifonics (which is what i use to compete with now) because they put out better quality sound and alot more of it and they will take alot of abuse, if you want boxed speakers ready to go in kicker brand ported boxes I can have them drop shipped right to your door as well, the only reason i am selling the 1 L7 i have so cheap is because a customer ordered it then never paid for it so I am selling it at cost. be careful if you are buying on ebay as you have no warranty at all and you cant force the seller to give you 1 even if they say it has 1. because authorized dealers are not allowed to do internet sales at all so kicker and most other companies will not honor the warranties.

also you dont need 2 amps you can use 1 bigger amp and still run 2 subs just by changing how you wire the subs at the amp. 1 large amp costs less than 2 smaller 1's usually just not with kicker brand

you can also keep it from blowing by just turning down the gain a bit and detuning some of the sub signal to the amp and refrain from using the remote gain or bass boost feature, speakers actually blow faster from too little power vs too much power

also to get it to 4 ohms you would need a dual 2 ohm sub not a dual 4 ohm sub and the amp would push 500 watts rms i usually pair the 1000.1 with a single L5 and the 1500.1 to a single L7 becuz kicker amps are way over rated these days on specs. so in short 1 L7 dual 4 ohm sub per amp will push each amp at 2 ohms so you would by kicker specs get 1000 watts to each sub if you use 2 amps which is what I would recommend for this setup.

Db drive vs kicker

The Kickers are the way to go here- they move more air because naturally a 15 inch square has more area than a 15 inch circle- thus more air moved =greater spl =LOUDER. The only thing that might get some equality between the two is if the db drive round sub has a far greater xmax that is the linear movement of the cone from start to full excursion-IF the db drive has drastically larger xmax than it could possibly outperform the L7 because of greater cone excursion which also =more air moved=louder---- haha thats a tricky one but ya got me wondering too so let me know what you find out please-Ive always been a kicker fanatic so im probably biased towards their products-never heard nothing bad about db drive though either im in salt lake city i dont know of anywhere out here that even carries their products so i have nothing to reference by except kicker L7's kick asssssssssss

Kicker sub wont work

Im guessing that it is possibly blown... either you ran too much power to it, or it was hooked up wrong... you should unscrew the sub from the box and look inside to make sure that it is connected correctly.... positive to positive, negative to negative,,, if they so much as touched then the L7 could very well be blown.... smell the magnet and if you smell a burnt smell... it is blown... maybe turn your amp down a little... its possible that it is also in protect mode because you are running too many watts to the amp. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.... Please rate! :D And good luck... i really hope its not burnt out. that stuff is not cheap.

well you can bring it into the place you bought it.. or a place where they sell kicker brand subs.. and ask them for a fix..
they'll either order you another one or.. they'll send it to be fixed.. depends on what it is(note) kicker L7 is made to be taken apart and fixed

Hi yeahonda,

Your Kicker L7 Ohms may be too low for the MA Audio Mono block amp. The MA Audio Amp is probably 2 Ohm Stable. The kicker will either be 2 ohm or 4 ohm Dual voice coil.   To eliminate the low ohms as a possible threat to causing the map to go into Protect, Wire the kicker Voice Coils in Series.  This adds the ohms, so that you either have 4 or 8 ohms.

I am using the following codes to show wiring. VC1+ stands for the Kicker  Subs Voice Coil #1 Postive post. AO+ is the MA audio Amp output positive.

AO+ to VC1+

VC1- to VC2+

VC2- to AO-

This shopuld give you 4 or 8 ohm depending on the 15" L7 setup.  Crutchfield does not carry the Kicker  L7 in 15" They do  have the L5 in 15".

If you know how to read a Volt Ohm Meter, set it to OHMs 20 and measure across VC1+ to VC1- and you should see between 1.5 and 5 ohms..  Do the Same with VC2+ to VC2-.  you should see the same voltage. Also read from the Voice coil metal housing to VC1+ , VC1-, VC2+, and VC2-. and you should not read any ohmage to the case. The meter should say OL, or -1.

Good luck.
