First thing you need to do is replace the disc filter benieth the conical shaped shroud. also there is batting in the upper part of the vacuum tat should be replaced once every 4 years as well as it gets clogged with carbonfrom the motor. this increases the air flow through the vacuum keeping the motor cool and increasing your suction as well. the disc filter benieth the conical shroud should be replaced every 6 months under normal use and every 3 months under really dusty situations, and if vacuuming up fine talk powder every month. also check for a clog in the hose by hooking the hose up to the blower port on the top of the vacuum.

I put a new bag in my electrolux 2100 and it seems like it has half of the suction. What seems to be the problem. Does it need a new upper motor gasket?

Take the hose off, turn the vacuum on and see if there is good suction at the vacuum where you attach the hose. If there is good suction at the vacuum there is either a clog in the hose or if it is an old hose the liner inside the hose may be collapsing when you turn the vacuum on. If that is the case you will need to purchase a new hose. I have hoses for sale on my website and on ebay.

My Dyson DC40 Animal sounds like it's running on half power. I've only had it one day and it seemed great considering it was sucking up an incredible amount of half/dirt. I took the canister to empty it,...

I would recommend you check the gaskets and make sure they are all connected properly so the vacuum doesn't lose suction. Also, check the filters. If they get too dirty the vacuum will lose suction.

You could check out Dyson's site: dyson.com/support.aspx

Hope that helps.

The brush is clean and spinning but it isnt picking up anything and just pushing pet hair around.

You mentioned pet hair. Remove the brush cover and check for a plug (possibly pet hair). Sounds as though you have a plug somewhere and it's not allow the suction to pull it through. Also check your filter and clean or replace as necessary. Hint; Never let you container get over half full, it reduces the suction.

No suction

Use the guide at builtinvacuum.com/flowchrt.html to find the issue and solution. Most likely you need to test it without any filter and be sure the bottom of the unit is attached :) To get access to the motors you need to unbolt the very top sides.

No suction...bag about half full. I have no

The brush may be spinning, but you probably need to replace the belt2_bing.gif because it is stretched. It is probably slipping on the beater bar..

Hoover Freemotion Pets 200W has lost most of it's suction!

if you take out the dirt cup at the top there should be a half moon orange that releases. inside of this half moon is a washable filter. rinse with warm water and let it dry completly before putting back into the machine. this should restore your suction. hope this helps.

Not sucking makeing a clogged noise

Bagless vacuums don't usually get clogged as easily as standard bag styles do. However, if you can disconnect the top half from the brush head section you should see a "neck" where the two meet, check there for a clog. Also check your filters, this is where loss of suction happens most. Dirty filters = Low Suction. I hope this helps

Hoover agility--poor suction, still!

When you remove the dirty water tank, on the machine, there is a screen that gets clogged and will prevent good suction, is this one clean? If it is, do you feel suction at that screen, if so then there is a problem with the tank. If no suction there, then you will have to check it over for a air leak or a bad seal.

Hoover Agility, No Suction!!!

I had the same problem. Lower the handle to the floor and check the black spiral suction hose at the neck of the machine. The lower hose in my Hoover split. Check and see if yours has done the same thing. If so, the lower suction hose will have to be replaced. Hope this helps.
