Question about Dell PART NUMBER KIT SPEAKER MM ACS45 ALTEC EUR 45502 Computer Speakers
We had a lightning strike near the house that I think came in through the cable. The cable amplifier was fried along with a wireless router and one TV will not turn on. I was using this subwoofer on my main TV that did not get damaged. The trouble is that I can no longer turn the subwoofer on by pressing the two volume buttons. The main fuse in the unit is good and I am getting about 18.7 volts DC after the diodes. Nothing looks cooked. Is there anyway to just install an on/off switch somewhere? Thanks
There is a good chance with a lightening strike that damaged so much of your equipment that this device was also affected. power to the device doesn't necessarily mean that other components were not damaged.... you can elimanate speaker damage by hooking the speakers up to another device to check them.
