DTV Pal: Timer resets to 'no timer set' after 4 - 12 hours. I perform all steps to set the timer; confirm that it's set, and actually, it works on one of two units. On the 2nd unit, i do the same thing and after 3-5 programs have been properly set up, i check 6 hours later and "No timers set" We had a power outage last week, and now BOTH units do the same timer cancel thing.

    Original post:

    DTV Pal: Timer resets to 'no timer set' after 4 - 12 hours.

    I perform all steps to set the timer; confirm that it's set, and actually, it works on one of two units.

    On the 2nd unit, i do the same thing and after 3-5 programs have been properly set up, i check 6 hours later and 'No timers set'

    We had a power outage last week, and now BOTH units do the same timer cancel thing.

    I have 2 of these units. The left one works fine and keeps the programming.

    The rite one, identical to the left, but hooked to a different VCR LOOSES the programming in 4 - 12 hours.

    I have read and re-read the manual and i am doing the same things on both machines. They are hooked to the same roof antennae.

    They should be performing the same way, but the rite one looses the timer settings.

    In the book, on page 17, it says: Inactivity Standby...turns off...allow(ing) the receiver to perform basic maintenance.

    Both the working and non working machines are set at the 4 hour 'Inactivity Standby' setting.

    Any hope?

Hi,

I was made to understand that there is a firmware glitch on the timer. Other reported issues were:

  • loses about 5 minutes per day;
  • can not manually adjust the clock;
  • constant running of the setup wizard every day to get the correct time;
  • erratic performance of the program guide and event timers for recording.
Options are:
  • claim warranty service/replacements (1-888-638-9912);
  • firmware upgrade, though there is no field/user way to upgrade the firmware and would require an in shop service. reported units with older versions of the firmware (F105 and F205) have multiple problems ;
  • inquire from Dish Network for any over the air updates;
  • try a reset, unplug from the mains for at least an hour.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I have the UPM ETW 350 user manual. It is easy to follow up to and incl. setting on time BUT setting off time is a mystery. Is there a 1-800 nu. I can call to be waled thru?

http://waterheatertimer.org/UPM-timers-and-manuals.html

This line of timers has mostly disappeared from market... I do not know who is offering tech support for the product.
If you purchased the timer recently, it may be previously used or non-functioning.
The manual is complicated and incomplete ... probably because they have built-in or intuitive steps that display when you program the timer... or they assume you want to fiddle around with their product.
It appears the timer must be wired correctly prior to programming.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-timers.html

- you set the current time first... you toggle through menu choices using arrow keys... go to clock...press set.. toggle to find current day (today) and then press set button... then do the same for hour and minute... pressing set button to confirm each selection.
- to program... you toggle through menu choices using arrow keys... when 1 ON appears on display... press set... select day or days for program 1 on using arrow keys... press set... select hour and minute... and press set after each to confirm selection.
These steps confirm setting for program 1 ON ...the day hour and minute that program 1 turns ON
Each ON program requires OFF program..
Probably the timer automatically displays program 1 OFF as soon as program 1 ON is set... then you follow same steps to select day, hour and minute for program 1 off.
Repeat steps to set up to 20 programs.
Do not touch buttons for period of time, and the timer probably displays current time and is ready to go, but manual is unclear about setting the mode..

Setting the clock on a brinks timer 44-1011

I finally found the instructions for the Brinks timer 44-1011 and they work.
    • BRINKS DIGITAL TIMER 44-1011 INSTRUCTIONS
    • CURRENT TIME SETTING
    • 1*Press and hold the OK button for 4 seconds. Hour Display flashes.
    • 2*Press +/MANUAL or - to select the hour. Press OK to confirm.
    • 3*Minute display will now flash. Press +/MANUAL or - to select the minute. Press OK to confirm.
    • 4*Press MENU to exit the time setting mode. Now the timer is in clock mode.
    • PROGRAM SETTING NOTE: This timer can be set up for up to 2 different programs. We will use PROG 1 for this example, however these steps can be repeated for any of the 2 programs. To clear a program setting hit the RECALL button when you have the program selected.

    • 2*Turn on DLST, the below of LCD shows +1H. Time is adjusted by adding one hour.
    • 3*Turn off DLST, +1H will disappear and LCD shows the real time. MANUAL OVERRIDE AND ALWAYS ON/OFF When in clock mode the +/MANUAL sign cycles through
    • 4 settings that serve as manual override. **ON - Indicates that the timer is in the ON mode, and will always be on regardless of the programmed setting. **AUTO ON - At this selection, the timer will come on regardless of the programmed setting, but it will follow the next programmed command. **OFF - Indicates that the timer is always off (i.e. the wall socket is turned off) **AUTO OFF - Indicates that the timer is in the OFF mode until the next programmed step that turns it ON.
    • NOTE: For normal timer function, the selection must be either "AUTO ON" or "AUTO OFF". RESET At any mode, press RESET for 5 seconds. All settings will be cleared, return to clock mode, 12:00 MO, AM, AUTO OFF will be shown on LCD
I hope this is helpful. It was a bear to find.

Intermatic digital lamp timer dt300. I can only get to set it to 24 hour. it does not go to 12 hour when i reset and then hold down the clock button. what am i doing wrong?

There is no repair for defective timer.
The DT300 is sold under at least 3 different brands and product numbers, and each manual shows identical steps for choosing 12H and 24H format.

The manual says to press and hold CLOCK button until display shows 24H. Then press HOUR button to change to 12 hour format.
I am guessing this step cannot be done if timer has programming in memory, so timer has to be reset first by pushing in reset button for a few moments.

Open following links to identify timer and download manual:

I need instruction manual for TD126 timer

TD126 timer

I'm going to guess at these instructions since they're not posted anywhere yet.
It's a chance I will be wrong, and others can add a comment and refine the answer.

The other option is: you can buy timer and scan your manual into pdf format and post it on your website for free.
Then add a comment with manual web location so we fixyans can sell your manual and manual information to other folks who are wanting a manual to sell to other folks.
Another option: You can pay a fixyan to buy the timer and do the work for you.

My guess is that free is better:

Plug timer into outlet for 1 hour to charge battery.
Remove timer from outlet to program.
Timer appears to be a 24-hour repeat timer with 12 hour am-pm format
There are 5 buttons on face of timer: Reset SET + - Finger
-Press reset button to clear programming.
-Set current time: Push and hold finger button while pressing + and - until current time and am pm display. Or push and hold SET button while pressing + and -.
Program timer:
-Press finger until PROG 1 ON displays
-Press press + and - to set program1 ON Hour.
-Press SET to confirm hour
-Press press + and - to set program1 ON minute.
-Press SET to confirm ON minute

-Press finger until PROG 1 OFF displays
-Press press + and - to set program1 OFF Hour.
-Press SET to confirm hour
-Press press + and - to set program1 OFF minute.
-Press SET to confirm OFF minute

-Press finger until PROG 2 ON displays
-Repeat steps above.
-When programming is finished, push set button.
And you might have to push finger button, or push and hole finger button, and then set button.

-Timer appears to be in AUTO as default mode.
Timer may also have a switch located on side of timer. Move switch to timer if there is a switch.
Some timers also require you push two buttons at same time to enter different modes, or hold one button while pushing other button.

Lost instructions for TE109 appliance timex timer.\r\nCan you help? Thank You & Merry Christmas

    • Plug your Timex seven day timer into a standard electrical outlet. Allow the timer's rechargeable battery to charge for at least 10 minutes before attempting to program the appliance; the battery will serve as a backup power source to prevent your custom programmed settings from being lost in the event the timer is unplugged or the power goes out.

    • Press the depressed "RST" button on the timer with the tip of a ballpoint pen to reset the timer's internal memory.
  • To Set the time on your Timex timer. Press and hold the "Set" button for three seconds or until the day-of-week indicator begins to flash. Press the "->" or "<-" button repeatedly until the desired day appears on the digital display; press "Set." Use the "->" or "<-" buttons to set the hours when they begin to flash; press "Set" when the desired hour is shown. Use the same process to set the minutes, then press the "Set" button again to confirm the day and time settings.

    • To Program a start time for your seven day timer. Press the ">" button to access the appliance's programming mode; the program number will begin to flash. Use the "->" and "<-" buttons to highlight the desired program number, then press "Set." Highlight the desired day and press "Set" again. Program the hour for your timer; press "Set." Set the minute and press the "Set" button to confirm.
    • wait for the timer to go back to std mode (like 10 seconds)

To program a stop time for your timer. Press the "Set" button to cause the day-of-week indicator to flash. Highlight the desired day and press "Set" to confirm. Adjust the timer's hour with the "->" and <-" buttons; press "Set" when the desired hour is shown. Set the minute for your timer and press the "Set" button again. Press the "Time" button to exit the setting mode.
