Hi
I think you will need one "Switch" (name of device - which is used to provide connections for more than 5 computers at a time)

So in the market there are variety of switches available like 5 port switch (for 5 computers) 8 port switch (for 8 computers) like wise.

So you need to purchase switch.

You can use alternate for switch is HUB (same as above)

So once you are done with that, let me know so that we can proceed further with configuration of you network (for 3 computers)

You can use a USB video adapter to add a second monitor. I have been using one from Startech and it works great. Go here to check it out. http://www.startech.com/AV/USB-Video-Adapters/

Can't download from windows server

Okay, so let's see here. Try testing the following...in this order.

Regardless that you just reloaded the pc, please download and run these 3 excellent free products:
malwarebytes anti malware
superantispyware
asquared free

Run full scans with all three and remove all threats found, including tracking cookies. If still no good, read on...

Connect the newly reloaded pc directly to your modem, bypassing the router entirely (reboot the modem before connecting the pc to it). This will tell you if your connection is good. if no good contact the isp. If it's good, power off (not sleep or hibernate) all other pc's, reconnect the reloaded pc to the router (no other pc's connected to the router). Reboot modem, and router, wait one minute, then power up the pc. Test the connection. If no good, someone else may 'own' your wireless router and be blocking websites....especially if the router is not secured with wpa encryption, and a strong password. follow the manufacturers instructions to reset the router to factory original settings (ususlly just press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds). Test the connection again. If still no good, then try another router. If it's good, but the problem resurfaces when the laptops are turned on, then scan the laptops for malware too.

Hope this helps!

How to connect a laptop having vista home basic with a xp desktop

Be advised that,
it makes not different to connect one PC/Laptop to another one via LAN because when you connect your system in lan networking you system will be automatically detected if LAN has been set up through a server.
And if not you need to do manually by assigning ID address on bot PC/Laptop.
For that,
first assign an IP address in either Laptop or desktop (IP address must be same category)
ex.
192.168.1.231 (first one)
and second one should be
192.168.1.here you can up (instead of 231) any number excep 0 but make sure not confliction between other system. means not duplication IP address on same LAN.
once you ae done with IP assigning
Go to
Star>Run>command and hit enter
once you see command prompt then
type there:
ipconfig and hit enter (it shows your ip address) if you wanna have more info then type ipconfig/all
once you are done with this then
you need to ping to your next PC.
for that
type in
ping 192.168.1.231 (means you need to type another PC's IP address here)
and hit etner
if you see like on image
then you are good to go.
