Question about Lexmark X6170 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Problem printing full screen

My Lexmark X 6170 has been working fine. However, it is now printing only a one inch by two inch portion (upper left corner) of the original copy. It does print full page copy when I print off of the computer; it is only when I am trying to print from an original I place on the glass of the printer.
I figured it was in the Reduce/Enlarge, but all that did was enlarge the portion that was originally printed.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your printers settings have accidentally been set to print a smaller area. When you print, look into the area that says page settings or properties before you print, you may find the settings altered. If the settings are set to print full page, then post back as we will need to explore other issues. Cheers lilacgerry

I always recommend downloading drivers from the maker's website, in your case Lexmark. Who else would have the latest, hopefully debugged and virus-free, versions?

Yes, please make sure that empty cartridges are full but this time while your computer is powered up, try disconnecting it for 10-20mins then reconnect it and power it back on. This should definitley solve that issue.

Print, but not scan after system reload


Check the Copier first if copier is working fine
then the Problems is with in the Software
reinstall the Complete software its not the driver issue it's application software issue

Need to reset ink levels on printer (lexmark 2600)


Hi
It is the chips on the inks that make it shore empty nothing you can do about it.

But I have found this bit of read up on the internet forum Gave it a go may work if it works come back let us know so I can pass it on to others Thanks.

1 Take a small pice of clear tape. Try covering one of the outside vertical row of contacts at thr front of the cartridge. Re-insert it and it shoudl "fool" the printer into thinking it is a new cartridge. It works for my Lexmark 2600 series all in one.



2 Use clear tape over left hand row of sensors on front of cartridge and re-insert. ink now shows with question mark but reads as full and prints fine.

3 I had fully covered the contacts because it was the full length of my Scotch tape. It did not work. I went back and re-read thread, wiped the contacts the computer was telling me, took off the strip and put on just a sliver covering the left vertical side of the contact only. It worked! Yippee! Thanks a million!

Lexmark 6170 printer


The way I solved my problem was I uninstalled my Lexmark printer completely from my computer, and reinstalled it. Then went to Lexmark.com and updated my driver. After doing this and restarting my computer, everything seemed to run fine.
