Hello Heather,
Most labels can be removed with isopropal alcohol without affecting the painted surface.. Try a small amount on a clean cloth to verify that it doesn't 'cut' the paint.. ..but that should work for you..

How do I recoat my microwave?

I assume you want to paint it. Preparation is the key. Rustoleum has some pretty good products that look close to stainless steal. Clean the outside thoroughly. The paint will only stick well to metal surfaces. Plastics will tend to crack and peel. Tape and paper off all the parts of microwave not being painted. You will not want to get paint on labels, keypad, plastics or the door seal. Paint takes and hour to dry between coats. Practice with long strokes on something else first. Several thin coats is better than one thick one. Fumes can be strong. Outdoors without wind or a garage will be the best area to paint. Paint is oil based and you will need paint thinner( or WD-40 in a pinch ) for cleanup. I don't think painting would be wise inside the microwave. I painted my range hood, and I swear it looks like its stainless steel. I used the brushed nickel color. Good luck.

We have an older knemore Mod 11?713400s/washer and

Clean the old paint surface with TSP cleaner, then sand the surface lightly with ~400 grit wet or dry sandpaper (wet--dip in bucket of warm water often while sanding and sand carefully in any corners). Cut a 1/4-paper-length strip from a full sheet and fold twice into a 1/3-width square. Sand using just your fingers to hold the paper--no sanding block. Wash with clean hot water, and dry with a clean cloth (no paper towels). Mask off the area you don't want painted, then using an epoxy-type paint spray can, spray the area evenly and lightly for the first coat. Follow can directions for the second coat. Remove the masking tape and paper shortly after the second coat--peel the paper and tape AWAY from the new paint at all points and don't let any of it get stuck in the new paint before it drys. If the second coat was applied fully wet overall without running, it should turn out very well. Good luck!

A child's plastic cup top melted on heating element. . .how to remove residue

Gently scrape with a razor blade or paint scraper to remove the large pieces, then use some emery paper or very fine sand paper to remove the rest. Use care when applying any pressure on the element, and try not to leave any gouges in the element surface. I have also had good luck with a nail file. Hope this helps you.

Dishlex dx 302 heat drying

Found I had no hot water in my Dishlex DX302 and did a google search and found this page.

My problem was found to be the same as the others; one of the solder joints on the relay on the control board had arced off.
You could see the burn mark on the board and cover where it had been arcing.

Soldered it back together, and now it seems to be going good again.
Now my only problem is a damaged door seal, which means a small water leak; I have used part of a rubber glove to bridge the gap, and it reduces the water leak.
