Question about Kitchen Ranges
When i self clean, and manually move leaver to right to lock door., house reaks of gas and I think i see smoke. upon investigating it does not appear the door closes completely or is fully sealed when self cleaning only . self clean leaver (when locked) and moved to the right is not complete to right, its sought of 75% there - not tucked into the right as it does to the left when not in self clean .
door seal well when in standard cooking mode , only problem is self clean, its almost like the lock leaver when slid to the right keeps the door from sealing .......................door does lock and cannot move leaver until oven cools
Is this a fix for a novice, im not too handy but can do anything under direction., i would like to fix myself - got laid off from my job three weeks ago
thank you to anyone considering to help

I had the same problem happen tonight. I have an XL44 self-cleaning gas range. We unplugged it for several minutes and pressed 'cancel' a bunch of times--neither worked. We finally lucked out--opened the oven door and pressed a black button on the upper left side of the front of the oven. It turned out the flashing words and unlocked our door. Weird. There was nothing in the manual about this...
