I have a medianpc it has a awrdacpi mother board do i have to update bios to install windows7.And how do i do this?

I use Belarc software to get me the info of a System when labels and or am too lazy to open PC and physically view Motherboard Details so that I can figure out whether Installing a later version of an OS is possible.

Other factors to consider is Audio and Graphics drivers for it, i.e. are there any as well as is the cost of updating any or both those components worth the effort especially when more Memory might be needed and so forth.

To answer your Q regarding Upating BIOS, the answer most of the time is NO, just awrdacpi is probably not the motherboard manufacturer name or model but reference to the BIOS chip.

Best wishes.

Can not enter Phonix BIOS A.07 setup

Hello there, I am the computer technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.

Welcome to Fixya, Gene Reinhard!

Another key to tap repeatedly when you computer is first powered on is the delete key.

Also some-times USB keyboards are not detected quick enough to actually register your key pressing at the appropriate time. Overcome this by using an older keyboard with a PURPLE PS2 connection.

Take care!

I want to format my pc but when xp pro bootable cd inserted and tried to boot it simpely boot in normal xp n there is no message saying "press any key to boot from cd". My 1st boot device is cd 2nd is hdd

My first suggestion would be to clean your XP disk and make sure there are no scratches on it.
Then depending on the BIOS of your machine when starting up press either F10 or F12 to enter the boot device menu there select your cd and hit enter.
This should fix your problem for you

Install older version of windows xp professional

Hello.

First do this.....

Reboot the computer and enter bios by..
When the blue DELL™ logo appears, press <F2> immediately
You might have to try this a few times since you have to be really quick,

In system setup (bios)
Set CD Drive as first device in the boot sequence. Press F10 then chose "Y" to save.

1. Put your old XP CD in and reboot.

2. After reboot if asked if you want to start on cd chose yes.

3. start Win Xp installation from your old XP cd.

4. delete partiton 1 on your C: hard drive

5. create new partition

6. Start installation and format the c:drive

7. Follow the installation instructions,,,

Hope this helps.
