Looks like convergence, you need to replace both stk's in the set. If you send me the model number i can get you the part numbers you need if you dont know.

Older unit probably late 80s or 90s worked good until recently. will not turn on.

Really need to know what equipment you're having trouble with. Provide make and model and info on power source (battery, DC power supply...)
In general though, if you can sample your input voltage near the unit with it still plugged in (use pointed probes or skin back wire insulation) and see what the voltage is with the unit turned on. If it drops when you turn it on, look for a bad connection in the line going to the source.

TV WENT OFF AND WANT TURN ON AT ALL

it's time to replace your tv. by the time you locate the power controler that may have failed you could purchase a new tv for the same price of the parts need to reapir.
the reason i say this is there multiple things they may cause this either theres no power coming to the circuits or the switch relay that turns the tv on and off is failed. unless you wanna tear this bad boy open and test your power and circuits. then it's just cheaper to replace the repair.

Red light is on in front and have no picture

Good day..

That problem is usually cause of bad capacitors on the power supply section..

As you stated your TV works fine and after a minute the red light comes on...

That symptoms is cause of bad capacitors..Normally bad capacitors can check visually if the capacitors look like leak/bulged on the top that is the indication of bad one but not all bad capacitors are bulged some are not so in that case you have to used a special meter called capacitance meter..

This is the sample picture of bulged capacitors:

When the tv is turned on and you press start on the ps3 the tv will cut off ? hav tried on multiple tv's with the same result. why is this ?

Try Safe Mode.

SAFE MODE:

1. Place you finger on the on/off sensor leave it their untill you console turns off then take you finger off the sensor.

2. Place your finger back on the on/off sensor leave it their until you hear 2 consecutive beeps then take your finger off.

3. Once the safe mode screen comes on select the option PS3 SYSTEM RESTORE.

NOTE: A PS3 system restore will delete all data except the OS. I recommend backing up your console onto a USB flash drive if possible.
Good Luck!

Three-year old 47" Samsung LCD. At first, some pixelation, usually correctable by turning TV off then on again. This situation lasted months, getting slightly more frequent each week. More recently, the TV...

1. the motherboard might be bad and you will need to replace it. 2. or The power supply is bad
Chances are if its making clicks the power supply is bad and you will need to replace it. Which makes sense because constantly powering the tv on and off will damage the power supply or possibly short out your motherboard. These things usually cost about 200 bucks to fix at a local tv repair store.

Tv won't turn on

These TVs have a self-check at turn-on, and will retry 3 x and then quit. Self-checks are like current overloads, voltages not present, IC communications not good, picture tubes not running. Can be anything without checking circuits.

Hitachi ultravison 50 in HD TV w/o sound or video access

Good Day, smuffin;
You may have a bad LAMP (part #; UX21516), it's about time, check lights on front panel of TV.
To replace LAMP remove Front Panel outwards until the quick snap disengages. There is small cover on the left hand side, using a philips screw driver; remove. Two more screws secure lamp, use handle to remove. ALWAYS, unplug TV from A/C power source first. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Doesn't turn on

Pretty good chance the power supply board is bad. A number of capacitors will become leaky and you lose all power. Some techs still know how to do component Laval service but most just change the board $$$$

TV Picture No Longer Comes On

Sounds like one or multiple Reservoir Capacitors in the Power Supply were starting to dry up. You also get problems like this from dry joints in the Power Supply. You need a technician to take a look for certain.
