Kitchen Aid Superba Dishwasher filter replacement problem

I can't lift the round plastic section on top of the filter to clean it. This piece is also attached to the water inlet arm. I've unscrewed the 3 screws, but it won't move. As it's all plastic, I don't want to force it. It's quite old....got it on Craigslist and it's not cleaning well. Thanks for any help you can give.

Yup--I cannot get the thing off. Without removing it I cannot clean the filter. It used to come off okay

Resivour at the botttom of the dishwasher is clogged and full of water/white soap.

Mine looked the same but if it smells bad it is not soap. It needs to be cleaned.

1. pull the filters out: there is a basket to catch large food particles, pinch tabs together to remove. then there is a round wire filter, turn clock-wise or counter clock wise- till it lifts out. (there will be a plastic piece that runs around half of this filter. it will easily pop on and off the tabs.) this will allow you to remove the rectangular wire filter that sits flush with the bottom of your dishwasher.

2. soak and then scrub. I poured a half cup of bleach into the bottom of my dishwasher and allowed it to sit for a good 10+ minutes. mine was filled with some pretty cloudy and nasty smelling water. at the same time, I soaked all the filters in bleach water. you could use CLR, or any good house hold cleaner. then scrub the filters with and old kitchen sponge.

3. re-assemble. if you look at each piece there are arrows that should line up when you connect them. the plastic semi-circular piece even has an arrow that points up.

4. run the dishwasher through for a whole cycle.

Good Luck!

Kitchen aid range heats up too slowly

Take the element out and check the ohms on the element. Replacing the element will fix you up.

FDW60 Dishwasher

HI
The strainer is located directly under the lower sprayer arm. When the strainer becomes clogged with food and detergent debris, the dishwasher may flood or overfill. On some dishwashers, the strainer is a plastic or metal component consisting of two semicircular halves. To remove this type of strainer, pry it up. On other dishwashers, the strainer is a one-piece component. To remove this type, remove the cap that holds the sprayer arm on its shaft. Then remove the sprayer arm and the strainer.

Wash the strainer in the kitchen sink with water and a mild household detergent. Use a fairly stiff brush to get all the debris out of the holes and slots in the strainer. Rinse the strainer well and replace it. If part of the strainer lifts out for regular cleaning, check it and clean it -- if necessary -- after each load of dishes is washed.

Bosch dishwasher

Although I previously posted with the same problem of a film on the dishes after cleaning, I did find a section in the owner's manual which solved my problem. Lift up the rinse aid cap on the inside door - the factory setting is on "4". The rinse aid works in conjunction with your local water, which has variations in it's hardness or softness. When your dishes are streaky, lower the rinse aid setting to 1 or 2. If your dishes are spotted, raise the rinse aid setting higher.
