Question about Philips CDR800 4-Disc CD Recorder
I am looking for a service manual for the above mentioned player/recorder. The problem is that the player started to give problems recording cds then it stopped all together. Need the service manual to have it repaired.

You power off then power back on while holding down the fast forward and rewind buttons on the recording side simultaneously. The display moves through a sequence of numbers and the trays will then open.

You are probably inserting blank computer discs, eg 650 or 700mb rather than blank music CD-R or CD RW`s which this machine is designed to work with. The correct discs are labelled "music audio" or 80 minutes. You can only use these types of discs. Why? When these recorders first came out, it was a way of battling piracey in copying discs. I believe there is a "hack" to enable this player to use blank computer discs.

SOURCE: Hi. My Philips CD Recorder CDR
The Unit turns itself off automatically after a few (variable) time when simply reading a CD and also when burning, then after 1 or 2 seconds it turns on and goes automatically in stand by mode. Any solution? Thanks.
