Parts Diagram For Needle Shaft.

Hi,
My Grandson dismantled my Wife's New Home L-373 needle foot. The problem was a simple bent needle. Now, I don't have a diagram for re-assembling the parts on the shaft.

Here is the pdf for the whole parts diagram. Everything is on there in detail. If you still need the owners manual that would have to be purchased from a website as it is not available online or by the manufacturer. If you have a moment to accept and rate this solution it would be greatly appreciated as I strive to provide fast, accurate, and economical solutions.
Thanks,

Replaced broken needle clamp, but presser foot blocks needle shaft from going all the way up & the drive wheel cannot complete a turn to pull thread.

I'd need to know what type of machine you have, but maybe you aren't putting the clamp on correctly. They are fussy! Be sure you have the flat side of the needle facing the correct way and that you wiggle and jiggle it while pushing up on the needle. Also, make sure you are using a new needle and not the old bent one. Sometimes the clamp will come in 2 pieces, so it may not have broken, just came undone.

Needle hitting pressure foot

Needle may be wrong size, may not be far enough up the shaft, or it is bent.

I HAVE A EURO SEWING MACHINE MODEL 373 IT WILL NOT SEW A STITCH

try these suggestions
change the needle
Correct needle insertion is mandatory for proper use of your sewing machine.
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the needle clamp screw to remove the old needle.
Place the new needle in the needle clamp with the flat side of the needle facing the back, (round needle, the groove in the needle should face away from the shaft).
Push the needle all the way up as far as it will go. Then tighten the needle clamp screw.

try rethreading the machine top & bobbin
make sure the bobbin is not warped
make sure the bobbin is wound correctly & inserted correctly
in the bobbin case
if none of these suggestions help,, then you might think about having
the machine checked to see if there is something wrong inside the
machine

Thread jamming in bobbin mechanism, breaking upper thread and jamming bobbin.

Upper thread breaks
needle may be in backwards
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the old needle, place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side to the back of the machine
Push the needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go, then tighten the needle clamp screw
upper tension may be to tight
the needle may be bent or damaged
thread may be hanging up in bobbin case--check area for loose threads or lint

When I sew the needle hits the pressure foot. I think there is a problem like the shaft that the needle attachs to might be crooked and then it hits the pressure foot it won't go into the hold.

Your needle is probably bent, put a new needle in and make sure that you insert it with the flat side facing away from you. If, you do not have a manual, go to brother-usa.com and download one for free

My kenmore sewing machine needle is coming down on presser foot.

Check the needle to make sure it is inserted with the flat side of the shaft toward the back of the machine.

Also, check to be sure the needle is not bent.

Remove the presser foot and see if the needle clears the opening in the needle plate and pulls up the bobbin thread.

If all of the above checks out, switch to a presser foot with a wider opening.

If not, the machine needs to be serviced as it may be the timing has to be adjusted.

Whenever you pick up a machine that has been serviced, try it out before taking it home.

I have a problem with the needle shaft. It seems to be overextended by about 1/8" to the front of the machine. My needle is hitting the forward part of the presser foot.

Remove the foot - does the needle hit the needle plate?

Is the needle bent?

If the answer is no to both questions, it could be the machine needs to be taken in for repairs.

Keep breaking needles

Hello,
Here are some solutions to try.

* When you insert your new needle, make sure it’s positioned correctly (usually with the flat side away from the bobbin, but consult your manual), that it goes all the way into the holder, and that the screw is securely tightened.

If there doesn’t seem to be a problem with your needle, try the following:

* Check your pressure foot and make sure it’s attached securely.

* Change your pressure foot Your pressure foot may be bent, causing your needle to hit it.

* Don’t sew over pins a needle that hits a pin can break. Always remove the pins from your fabric before they reach your needle.

* Don’t pull your fabric as you sew. You could be bending your needle back, causing it to hit your needle plate instead of going into the hole. Just guide your fabric, letting it feed on its own.

* Check your needle plate and make sure it's securely in position.

* Change your needle plate. If you’ve been using a straight stitch needle plate (a plate with a small hole, often used for sewing fine, delicate fabrics), switch to a needle plate with a wider hole.

* Check the position of your needle. Sewing machines with zigzag capability allow you to adjust the position of your needle – right, left, or center. If your needle is not positioned correctly, it may be hitting your needle plate or pressure foot.

Hope this helps.

Self threader won't work

the needle should be in the up position or the threader won't come down, still when it does, you have to get the thread right across the hole in the needle for it to catch,

another problem is that you bent or broke the center pin that pulls the thread through the needle,

the tip that comes to the needle has three parts, the two outer ones that wrap around the needle and the center pin that goes through the hole in the needle,

If this is bent you may be able to bend it back if broke you need to get it replaced

take a good magnifier and take a look at the center pin!

Hope this helps
