SOURCE: Quit working -Haier Freezer
You have one of three issues here.
Either the thermostat has gone bad,
The thermal cutout has gone bad ontop of the compressor,
or the capacitor is out for the compressor.
Take an hom meter and check the thermal cutout, it should read 0 ohms or "continuity" if it doesnt the cutout is bad.
The only real way to check the cap is with a cap meter.
as for the thermostat check it with a n hom meter to make sure you have good connections internal the thermostat.
If you have any other questions just let me know!
SOURCE: freezer freezes but does ever stop running
thermostat is stuck on! set to medium setting and gently tap stat. does it turn off? it was stuck. does it still run? its still stuck. if you feel comfortable find stat and power in and out. disconnect - it has to turn off then. but 99 % of the time its the stat. they fail closed and run 24 -7 or fail open and temps get real hot and they never close and restart compressor . yours appears to have failed closed. sometimes you can firmly twist em max cold to min cold a few times and break the stuck contacts and they'll do ok for a while. try to reset at a little higher or warmer temp when done so its not making and breaking on the same old worn spot again. good luck.
SOURCE: Where can we get a manual for the HCM073PA Haier
on your model freezer one of the switches actually turns the unit off and on and the other turns the alarm off and on. unfortunatley i'm not sure which one does which. here is the part numer for the manual RF-9999-208 and it can be ordered thru sears.com for 3.50 alternatively you could check haier's web site to see if they have a downloadable version. thanks Peyton
SOURCE: I have a GE chest freezer and the exterior green
Is this just a "Power-on" light to let you know it's plugged in and has power? This is probably just a "neon" (although the actual gas inside is hydrogen for the green color) bulb and sometimes they will do the flickering thing literally forever. In a way it's a good thing as it makes you look at it. If it really concerns you, or if it is actually a warning that something is going wrong (it should say in the manual, you DO have the manual don't you?) have it fixed under the warranty.

that green light is the mains light and it will stop later .
