Question about Panasonic DP-1810P Laser Printer

DP-180 (used to be network) now USB

Hi There,

After continuous problems with "keeping" the DP-180 online with network (10/100) considered USB.

Also there has been a change from a dedicated fax line to a shared/different tone line.

Have re-installed printer as per USB install - and printing is OK however am having problems with fax.

Where on earth does one tell the fax "after how many rings" to answer the line?????

I have changed the DRD to "Active" and can't find anywhere else to change these settings.

Hair is getting thinner by the moment :-(

Thanks for your help.

Thanks this was definitely helpful and put me on the right track. Have now reverted back to Network and was able to access all the menus - seems that USB make it very difficult to get a lot of the functionality from the printer - though I suppose it does have a lot of the functions that a multi-department company may need - things are hard to find for the small home office.

    thanks once again.

    cheers

How can i networked my kyocera taskalfa 180

You only have a usb 2 connection.
You can hook it to one p.c and share out the printer to other p.c.s.
You could invest in a router that has provision for sharing out a usb printer connected to it.
You could invest in a USB printer server. see http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/print-servers/dp-301u-10-100-ethernet-usb-print-server. However you need a ethernet network already in place with your other computers. You can connect your other p.c's via ethernet and use a network switch device to connect all devices to one another if you do not have a network or use a wireless Router and wireless adpaters or p.c's but no more than 4 p.cs on wireless.

It sounds like the dongle has a problem. You should consider returning it for exchange or refund.

I found this page on amazon.com - scroll down to bottom to read reviews.. They say easy to install, and work great. One caveat, will not work with older model same tv.

Hi - in my three-computer, PC network environment, I just changed from a static IP to a dynamic IP situation, and can't use some of the printers. I think it's because my DP 300U print server is stuck on...

Shut down all the printers and computers.
Boot all the printers first to establishe their IP addresses.
Then turn on a computer and search the network group for what is online. All the printers should show as long as they have theit IP address.
Once their static IP is established the rest shall follow with what ever IP addresses are left. A dynamic IP setup grabs the available ip address and can conflict with a device that has that static IP if the static IP device is powered up after.

Hi fixya i have presented this problem a few days

Go to Start\Programs\Panasonic and look for the "Network MFP Utilities"
There is a "Network Scanner Configuration" software that create
s a "Location" for the scanner. The location can well be a network drive or a shared folder on your computer.
Once you create the location, the scanner will pick it up automatically so when you want to scan, you will be able to select the destination (i.e. the location you created)
You can create several locations to be able to save scanned docs in more than one place.

HP LJ P1008 can be used as network printer ?

I have one of theses D-Link PD-301U. It does NOT support a printer like yours. According to D-Link's Web site, here are the HP Laser printers it supports (note the P1008 is NOT in the list):

LaserJet
  • 1200
  • 1500 (USB 2.0)
  • 2200
  • 2200D

    D-Link DP-301U Problem

It should be fine as long as it is in the range that the router can recognize and that it doesn't conflict with another IP address used on another device. Usually on the networks I design I keep the printers on higher IP address so that they can be managed on a certain range.

Is this the wireless print server?

What specifically do you mean by PJL printer block?
