I get a remote fax error when trying to send a fax...i have a Lexmark X5070 all in one printer/fax

The driver from the Lexmark website might not include the fax software. Did you try to use the Lexmark X5070 install disc to install the software?

Hi. The fax driver for most of Lexmark printers are usually found only in the installation cd that came with your printer. Just run the installation cd in your computer and make sure to include the fax software/driver. Good luck!

Sounds like a problem with the receiving fax machines phone line. Try send to another fax. If it is still doing the same thing, then the problem is in your line.

Does it only happen going to one certain fax destination or every destination? There are some things to try on the Lexmark web site.

Go to www.lexmark.com and click Support->Technical Support. Type in 4270 in the 'Search by Model' box. Type in 'Remote fax error' in the 'Search the Knowledgebase' box. There is a topic called 'Problems Sending a Fax to Specific Fax Machines' that has some good general tips.

Clear NV RAM..... Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.... Press and Hold the #5 button on the Printer and plug in the Power Supply....... Don Release the #5 button till the Printer turns on completely.... After releasing the #5 button........ Press the Menu button once Keep on Pressing the Right Navigation Key till u find an option  saying Maintanence goto maintanenece and go to manufacturing and click on clear NV RAM.....
Now as soon as the Printer is Restarted....... U will be able to send and recieve faxes..... Thanku.............

can send fax but not recieve them
