Question about Televison & Video
Our TV is the Hisense LCD Colour TV, LCD19W57CA model. We bought it on Thursday 11, 2008. Can you tell me, even if and when I find out myself by the time you reply, why the channel buttons (CHA Up & Down) don't work when I set the Channels to Cable? They work with the Air setting. I'm a disabled person and I like the function of CHA Up & Down buttons instead of always using the Numeric Keypad. The other problem is the Sound adjustment. Right now, the sound is like if the sound is coming out of only one speaker and the sound is mono and the pitch is not clear. I'm having a difficult time figuring it out. I asked Hisense but I'm not sure they understand the problem. For one thing, the guy told me via email that the remote needs to be programmed with the Hex code to enable the Channel Up or Down buttons to work but Videotron, our cable company in Quebec doesn't even know what that is. Right now I use the numeric buttons to change the channels. The other thing I don't get is the Sound mode thing. Sound mode has four settings: Music, Standard, Speech and User. When I press the Sound mode button I can't change the setting. No instructions apear like what arrow buttons to press like Cha (channel) Up or Down; or Vol (volume) Up or Down to change the setting. Same with the Picture Mode. The settings are Bright, Standard, Soft and User. Both are at User and I have no way of changing the settings.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: tv channel problem
- I think you mean model P42. You can get the user manuals here:- http://www.vizio.com/support/downloads/ Note that the quickstart guide file is broken. You have to allow pop-ups, select the model and the manual will appear in a new window then you can save/print. Hope this helps! -

I had the same problem, what fixed it for me was to set auto scan to setup all the channels for me again. Another thing to check would be whether it is set up to use CATV or AIR.

your main board has gone bad. Can be fixed, in my shop it would cost about $250. It is a real shame on the industry that these things last about 2 years or less. Hope you held on to your old crt style tv.
