Hi my radio is locked due to dead battery and i now need the coda however i dnt have a manual as i bought the car 2months ago off the auction. My serial number is M186662 please can i have the code.

Welcome to FixYa.

The problem with these security codes is that each radio carries a code that is unique and individual to the serial of radio itself. There is no master code for these radios.

Ford will charge £25 for supplying you with this code and this is why I always recommend this site which does them for only £5.99

Simply enter the serial details on site and you will have your code sent right back to your email or mobile phone. I use them regularly for radios that I repair and can confidently recommend them.

Hope it helps. Many thanks for using FixYa.

Probably not, you can buy security codes online, you just need the serial number off the head unit so you may need to get it out,

have a look here fore some head unit removal guides ;

Philips car car radio code to un lockcode car 400

First make sure that the code has not been noted somewhere within the car (underneath the ash tray, glove box , rear of sun visor etc)

To see if your code is available here  for free then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .

If not then POST ANOTHER QUESTION

quoting the radio MAKE+MODEL plus ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS ,BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING

Also quote the MAKE of CAR

note: Unfortunately not all radios can be decoded using the Serial Number

Otherwise try your Main Dealer ...........or take it into a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM). This takes a few minutes and shouldn`t be too expensive
